I'm honestly disgusted in the way we were treated at this restaurant. The way we were made to feel because we had a baby with us who was happily playing with a toy was totally unacceptable.
So up until the starters everything was going fine, until the front of house female came to our table and asked could we stop our 7 month old baby to stop playing with her toy as it was too loud. So for context this is at 5pm and the restuarant is full off children with the noise level already being elevated that comes with a busy restuarant. Whats the toy she was playing with you may ask that was causing such a noise issue, a drum set maybe? A trumpet? No, it was neither, it was a rattle!!! A wooden rattle. We were in total disbelief after this and so asked for the bill as no parents should be made to feel that there baby is doing something wrong by contently playing with a toy at the table. It just so happens it was the table next to us that had decided to complain but say nothing to us directly, which was apparent when they were leaving and the conversation with the front of house female, at this point I felt that I should ask what the issue was and why were we being made to feel ostracized. At this point the male of the table who complained clearly felt embarrassment of being called out publicly and could only respond with aggressiveness, to which I responded appropriately without any violence, but myself being off the bigger stature I was immediately identified as the problem. We were asked to leave, thats ok, not a problem we were leaving anyway. But just when we thought the treatment couldn't get any worse, literally 2 minutes after being asked to leave, as we were getting our things together, a male and female security were at our table again saying to leave, which we were in the process of doing, but packing up with a baby isn't an instant process. Whats the main objective of any door supervisor? Its too difuse a situation, but clearly it had been a quiet day, especially for the female as she proceeded to make derogatory comments when we were already leaving the premises. No parents of a young baby should never be made to feel like this at any time but especially not again in this restaurant. To prevent this I suggest the following to the Oyster catcher.
1. Don't advertise as a family restuarant if you are unable to accommodate the noise that comes with a family, how would you deal with a child who may be screaming down the restuarant crying, Iet alone a baby happily playing with a rattle
2. Learn how to correctly approach any such situation. Maybe offer an alternative table to either party and not instruct parents to tell there child to be quiet. When there are multiple tables in the restuarant with children making equal if not more noise.
3. Employ new door supervisors who are able to appropriately assess a situation and deal with it accordingly. Dealing with a family with a young baby does not require the same approach as dealing with a group a young lads who are under the influence of alcohol. How do you think it feels being escorted out in front of a full restuarant when we was already leaving on our own accord with the female door supervisor making unnecessary comments.
Looking back and evaluating this situation I can only come to the conclusion that it's a case of discrimination, due to the fact of my partner having a foreign accent. There is no other justification or reasoning of the behaviour displayed by The Oyster catcher.

Tom served us and he was super attentive and friendly, always smiling and extremely helpful. The menu was perfect with our varying food preferences, and our dog got lots of fuss too. Great atmosphere - they even sung me happy birthday - and we?ll be back!

An expensive meal and not good.
The starter was ok. The crab croquettes were good. The main courses were disappointing, the curry had prawns with their shells on so difficult to eat and the flavor wasn't great. The risotto was inedible, very oily and tasteless. The crumble was ok but too much pineapple.
A shame because the menu looked great and we were looking forward to it.

We had our anniversary meal here tonight and can't say a bad thing about our dining experience. From the moment we arrived we were treated very well. The food was amazing I had the fish and chips the portions were massive the fish batter was light and crispy and the chips are big and chunky and well cooked. My wife had the lamb leg which she says was very tender and tasty and lovely mashed potatoes and all the trimmings. The desserts were generous portions and also very nice.
We just wanted to thank all the staff for making our anniversary meal so very nice. Look forward to comming bk

Totally disappointing. Sunday roast horrible. Chicken dry, portions small and prices too high for quality and quantity. Waitress disappeared before end of meal.
