On way home and wanted somewhere to stop for food, come across the crown inn online and booked a table. Arrived to a lively friendly welcome, had a couple of drinks and food. Absolutely amazing, and unable to eat my full meal was provided with a container to take the rest away. Will definitely be going back.

Location is good, very close to everything. Staff not great. Just gave us the key and that?s it. Didn?t even explain where to park. Had to find somewhere ourselves. Room was big, but not clean and beds were not comfortable. Was quite hot in the room. Was ok for one one night, but wouldn?t stay longer.

Cosy pub offering rooms on the high street. I had a pint of lager which was lovely and refreshing. Food looked and smelled good. Friendly woman behind the bar.

Having been disappointed by the pub we booked, the staff at The Crown couldn't have been more accommodating for an evening meal (with two dogs too!)
Food was very good, traditional fayre but very good quality and value.
Staff makes this place extra special, thank you

The hotel wasn't even open for food or drinks. The staff over the road in Lamb & Flag kindly took us to show us our room. We ate there instead. Our room was quite shabby, needed a good clean in the bathroom. Tea/coffee facilities but no teaspoon. The beds were not comfortable. Rhayader was quiet but nice. Staff didn't know where to advise us to park, so had to find our own

Croeso means welcome in Welsh and that's about as good as it gets.
The Crown Inn was welcoming but the food wasn't.
My prosciutto chicken was overcooked to being leather. I had one carrot that was burnt. The cabbage was undercooked. This was an example of how to cook everything badly.
The chicken curry was ok but tasted possibly out of a good cook in sauce. Definitely not authentic. The rice and naan bread were fine but not great.
Is the croseogrwp resting on its laurels with no competition in Rhyader? Definitely.
Would I recommend going. Not unless they improve.

We?ve only stopped here randomly passing by searching for some dinner that?s not fish and chips lol we?ve had lamb and pork belly. Both 10 out of 10 cooked to perfection, tender, crisp where needed, just amazing. Had to personally compliment the chef. Coming from London to have such level of quality you?d only find in really expensive places (and even there it?s not always the case). Highly Recommended.

Great Restaurant/Pub in the centre of Rhayader. Not the cheapest but worth it as I had the Beef Lasagna and it tasted excellent and the portion was great! Staff are friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming and food arrived pretty quickly even though it was busy. Only downside is the desert prices are way too much, £8 for a sticky toffee pudding! Other than that, great place to eat! 4.5/5 (due to prices)

After walking 27 miles (started at the source of the river Wye) I was intending to wild camp but last minute changed my mind and stay and dine at The Crown.
What can I say?! The staff bent over backwards to accommodate and make me feel welcome, even though I did look a little worse for ware and considering it?s really nice inside.
My dinner experience surpassed my expectations by a mile with perfectly cooked food using high quality (I assume local) ingredients.
My room was clean and very comfortable too and exactly what I needed.
If you?re looking for a traditional country pub, The Crown ticks all the boxes. Everything about this place offers a feel that hasn?t changed in a hundred years but with a modern take on customer experience.
PI highly and genuinely recommend. Thank you for a great experience. It?s exactly what I needed.
If you?re coming from the river, seriously just walk past all the pubs and hotels and come straight here.

Went there today for the first time and had the chicken with prosciutto ham in a cream sauce. Best pub grub I've had in years. Well done the Crown.
