Fun locals pub on the corner. Interesting regulars and guy behind the bar was funny. Had the sports on when I popped in. Has a pool table and serves food. ? ??????? ?

Stopped in for lunch while in the area with my 2 children. Service was great, all staff polite and friendly, food came out quickly, and hot. Great value for money, you get a lot of food for what you pay!

Don't bother... booked for 13.30 and they had run out of food by 13.20 and made up a excuse that my booking was at 13.00.
Who has a carvery with only enough food for just over an hour on a bank holiday Sunday.
Didn't look the cleanest of places so might of workrd out for the best.
Went next door to the Lamb and Flag.. ?

The Sunday lunch was incredibly tasty and piping hot, unusual for a carvery where the veg can sometimes be somewhat cold. All the vegetables were fresh and local. The beef was cooked perfectly as was the turkey, not dry but moist.
The dessert menu was a choice of 6 items, each of which looked divine. We had the Eton Mess and apple & blackberry tart with custard, both of which left you wanting more.

This is our favourite pub in the town, so relaxing & the chap behind the bar, ( I think his name is Lewis), is a very pleasant fella.
Don?t walk past & miss out on great beer & fantastic food.
My wife had the homemade lasagne & I had homemade chicken curry & after a rest we both opted for the raspberry pavlova with cream,(well it was our 21st wedding anniversary meal).
Can?t recommend the place highly enough..

Nice pub in the middle of Rhayader. Friendly, helpful staff. There is a bar and separate restaurant area. Best to book weekend evenings if you want a guaranteed table but walkins are accommodated.
