I recently had the pleasure of visiting Monica?s Munchies, a fantastic local food van that serves delicious hot meals. We treated ourselves to a lovely bacon sandwich, and it was absolutely mouthwatering. The bacon was perfectly cooked?crispy and flavorful?nestled between fresh, soft bread that made for a delightful combination.
What truly stood out during our visit was the dedication of the man running the van. He was working tirelessly all day, ensuring everything was prepared fresh and served with a smile. His passion for providing great food was evident in every interaction, making the experience feel warm and inviting.
If you?re in the area and craving a hearty meal, definitely stop by Monica?s Munchies. You?ll not only enjoy a satisfying bite but also appreciate the hard work and commitment that goes into every order. It?s the perfect spot to grab a quick bite while supporting a hardworking local vendor!

What a lovely 1/2 pounder cheese burger I had, husband had a sausage, bacon and egg roll, he would have had more of the nice hot chocolate if he hadn't of kicked it over in the footwell of tha car ?
Parking: Lot's of parking space,so don't miss out, pull in and order ?

Great little stop off for a breakfast or lunch top up, I actually had breakfast here after getting my head down in my van in the layby as I was shattered driving home after being up North Wales, I knew the van was there so figured happy days saves me sorting breakfast I'll have a kip and have a treat in the morning lol.
Had a nice Bacon, sausage and egg bap, reasonable price about what you expect to pay anywhere now really. Nice food to be fair not overly greasy like some, lovely fresh tasty bap too which is always nice ?
Super handy location just outside Rhayader, with plenty of space to pull in away from the road. There's a little walk through just to the side of the van that leads down to a stream, it's behind the trees so feels miles away from the road but it's literally seconds walk, I went down there in the peace and quiet to enjoy my breakfast. There's also a small bridge you can cross leading onto a public foot path and a scenic walk, I'm unsure how far it goes as I did have a stroll for 5 minutes but my legs were like jelly from walking a lot over the previous few days and having done Yr Wyddfa in 100mph winds the day before I didn't have much walking left in me lol!
Anyway, I digress, nice clean van with tasty food, had a chat with owner too which I also find nice rather than just "That'll be X quid" they're pleasant, polite people. Will happily stop there again :)
Parking: Large layby, unless there happen to randomly be several trucks and cars you'll have enough space to park easily.

Cafe currently closed so this review is for the lay-by. Great parking spot. Canoe launching point. We brought our own food which was great! There is an interesting view from the pedestrian bridge over the river. The portaloo behind the portakabin is chained shut. Could all do with a bit of a clean.

Beautiful spot. Stopped for a cuppa as it was raining. A welcome break from riding and it's a trailer so a dry order and on me way again. Great cuppa.
