Easy parking in rural, picturesque area. Evening meal choices limited and took over an hour to arrive on the table. Staff were friendly and it?s obviously a favourite place for locals. Room was cold, especially the bathroom, so take slippers! I wore a jumper in bed. Breakfast was ok but not particularly tasty. The whole place could have been cleaner.

Nothing bad at all to say...food is excellent and very reasonably priced, if you want high end food this isn't for you but if you want excellent pub grub then make this place your place to stop. It's worth coming off the well worn tracks to visit this jewel in Powys crown.Locals are friendly and have that certain sense of humour that is rife in the valleys.Give Sean and Tracy a shout when your round and about...they are true people who will go to the enth degree to help..100% coming back even if its for the steak meal or a banging burger!!!!Breakfast is TDF, authentic Welsh blackpudding and herby sausages plus the sound of real fried eggs being cooked #MusicToMyEarsThe Penderyn whisky on tap...thats good enough for me!!!!

Had a fabulous 2 night stay here. Room clean, bed comfy. Tracey and Shaun were the perfect hosts, they couldn't do enough for us and made us feel very welcome. The food was delicious. Plenty of room for parking. The bar is closed until 5pm but this suited us as we were out all day sightseeing. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.

Honest review, after thinking for a while I decided to give 2 stars. I don't think the owners have run a B&B before because there knowledge of business wasn't very good. I'm hoping this feedback will encourage them to make some changes ??Possitive:Inn was pretty, had free parking, free WiFi, in a quiet location, easy to get to local shops, restaurants, pubs, food shop, amazing views outside and I found the owners to be chatty and friendly. The male owner impressed me with his organisation skills and cleaning the place as his efforts where more visible. There was an ensuite bathroom in the room. I slept amazingly the bed was very comfortable and bedding was just right in tog thickness. The full English breakfast made by Tracey and her partner was amazing. Very nicely done. With improvements this place can be 100% booked everyday. I look forward to the owners response and to see changes made.Negative:The Inn is not clearly visible and can be easily missed! On first impressions I new the rooms where going to be low standard. It's all about the entrance walking inside the Inn. It was un-organised as if they were not expecting us at all. No food is served on a Monday at the Inn (we were told by Sam) our bellies hungry from a long 4 hour drive plus lots of stops on our way to sight see while getting to the Inn. The telephone red box had junk inside and wasn't able to take pictures as this could have been an instragram or tiktok point of view. Mainly advertising the inn for tourism.Inside the Inn I found it very dirty, cluttered with things that didn't make sense like the empty cake stand... And other bits of furniture not used. The room name made us laugh as it was colour coded. To be honest if they where named after famous local locations that theme would of been suitable as a point of discussion more interesting as that was the point in going to Wales. Not everyone is going to like bright colours in room especially after a hard hike, bike ride or adventures. A relaxing earthy colours would of been more suitable. And pictures of famous land marks. We were left in a room with no milk for our tea and there was hair stuck to the biscuit packet which unfortunately put me off. They didn't inform us that it was a room used by dogs especially with my asthma. There was dog hair all over the blanket and floor definitely not hoovered before our arrival. And we arrived later for a reason. The TV was too small if viewing from bed, so we ended up using our tablet and watching Netflix. The bathroom was okay apart from the toilet brush that was transparent and you could see the brown colour from previous cleaning toilets. Not something visitors should see, no hand wash so we had to use our shower gel to wash our hands. No bathroom matt so we had to use one of the smaller towels.Because of the cleaning situation we decided to eat at one of the pubs which I have also left a review.

Well what can I say, what amazing hosts. Made to feel at home from the minute you arrive until the minute you leave, nothing is to much trouble. Hospitality, food, locals, all first class. Totally dog friendly, our dog enjoyed as much as we did. Will definately visit again, and we will bring you some Evans pies. Thank you Tracey & Sean.

My family were in the area on holiday and found the Mid Wales Inn, what a brilliant place! Tracey and Sean are so friendly and nice, having gone into the bar for only a couple of nights, it felt like we had been going for years, all of the local regulars were really friendly and helpful when planning our activities, particularly Sam. The drinks are well priced, as is the food, there are different themed nights where you get a drink with whichever themed food night it is for a fixed price. The meals are really nice, home cooked fare. You are able to pay by card and there is free Wi-Fi. I wholeheartedly recommend a visit to the Mid Wales Inn.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch and returned a few times for a drink during our cottage stay close by. Unfussy country pub with a lovely friendly welcome.

Tracey and Sean were very friendly in spite of us having to change the booking. The cooked breakfast was good but too big for us but there was no problem in changing to cereal and toast for the other day. The locals were also friendly and seemed keen to find out what we were doing and where we came from. Gave us some driving tips as the road into Rhayader was closed when we arrived. A good weekend
