Visited on wheelbarrow race/ carnival weekend, when finishing line and winner announcement takes place outside here. Didn?t have any food but drinks were great. Nice atmosphere. Menu looked tasty.

Our first visit for a pint, very welcoming bar lady Holly, plus other locals, met two venerable chaps with a host of stories on helicopter maintenance? these chaps still spinning plates at 77? hope I?m still as active when I?m their age.
The menu on the wall looked quality and we were advised to book a table and not just turn up.

Went for a Sunday roast on easter Sunday. We were the only table seated in the right hand side area, which wasn't a great sign. We were expecting it to be busier on easter Sunday. As we had a dog with us, food options for the day were either a pub up the road with a 2 star hygiene rating or here, so we chose here. We both had the pork loin roast, which was thin slices of pork (the thickness of ham.) It definitely seemed like it was bought in pre sliced. The roast potatoes were old and tough. The veggies were actually decent, fresh and not overcooked and the small bit of crackling was also nice. Very overpriced and one of the worst roast dinners we've had out probably ever (almost like a school dinner to be honest.) Before ordering my husband went to look at what drinks were on tap at the bar but was told 3 times to sit down as someone would be over to serve, while the barstaff chatted to the locals sat at the bar. It made us feel very uncomfortable for the rest of our meal. The waitress that served us was very friendly though.
Very disappointed and would not recommend. I think all the good reviews are from the previous owners.

Super place to eat and drink .
The food is really very good well presented and cooked to perfection.
Staff are very polite and friendly.
Fruit crumble is a dream so nice( see photo)

Food was lovely, nice atmosphere. Lady on the bar was very welcoming and polite. We both had the burgers which were really tasty!

Went there for a roast on Sunday. Food was delicious, staff were really helpful and great with the kids.

The Royal Oak has recently come under new ownership and has also just started doing food. We had steak and sizzling chicken, which was cooked perfectly. Pricing was reasonable and pints were also a good price.

We had a table of five here tonight. it was very good with great customer service and good value for money.
They have a very good Chef, all the dishes were of a good to high standard.
Well done, we will certainly be back.Star of the night was Sunnys wife, always smiling, hot plates, good table sevice, attentive, pleasant and friendly.

Been waiting for an Indian takeaway in Presteigne for ages.Had a £60 Indian takeaway ,3 starters and 3 main meals .
Very disappointed and won?t be using again it was oily and had no flavour . If you have ever eaten at the weobley Go there instead and enjoy the quality food. A very disappointed
