Fantastic Sunday lunch which was delicious and presented nicely. Generous portion size, the beef was so soft and fell apart and the veggie Mediterranean tart was very tasty and came with veggie gravy. Lovely atmosphere and very helpful staff. Well worth the money.

When this establishment is open it is very good. I live locally and pass regularly... To put it quite simply.. It is never open... !!!.. I pity people that have traveled distance to hope and trust that it is actually open.. Once again I have been let down by a exceedingly closed pub.. Google say's it is open... When it isn't.
I hope other people have a more positive exexperience.

We were unfortunate enough to have a car breakdown on Saturday but thankfully it happened right next to The Black Lion! The food was genuinely amazing and in the words of my partner ?the best burger I?ve ever had?. Just wish I?d have took some photos to show its size! The owner was really friendly aswell :) if we?re ever passing through again, we?ll definitely drop in!

Beautiful 16th C quirky pub. Had the roast here a few times and never fails to exceed expectations, great portion sizes and near always cooked exceptionally well.

I love this place. From the moment you walk through the doors you enter into a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. We had a lovely cozy place to sit near the huge fire place, surrounded by the old style exposed beams covered with fairy lights, very magical. We were looked after by super friendly staff and the meal was absolutely amazing with plenty of veggie options. I went for the peanut and mushroom roast which was divine. I highly recommend visiting this beautiful 500 year old Inn.

Had a meal and the portions were so large I unfortunately had no room for dessert. The lady serving was a real people person and my wife and I felt very much welcome. Can't find anything to fault.

Wow what a wonderful place. We had a fabulous evening meal here. Outstanding food and very nice house wine. A lovely old building tastefully set out as a pub / restaurant. Dog friendly inside. Staff we very friendly and helpful. Booking system available on line. A must if you're in the area.
