A lovely little & warm bookshop, amazingly deceptive, with more inside than you would think. Definitely worth a visit, you'll be surprised what you find...

This is absolutely one of my favourite ever shops to visit! The combination of books and art supplies is perfect. The books cover most of the mainstream reads as well as local history and more selective specific interests. The art supplies are brilliant, personally I love the inks and watercolour but such a large variety of paints, pens stamps, brushes, paper and much much more. The staff are always really warm and welcoming as well as very helpful with book or art queries. Love this little shop, I just cant go past without going in!

I?m on holiday and had travelled over half an hour to get some art supplies. I was met at the door by the shop keeper to be told that she was closed for lunch. Had it said this on the website I would have changed my plans as was unable to wait for opening. Was very disappointed!

Have been going to browsers regularly for years. Staff are always welcoming and helpful! The selection is always diverse and interesting! Not to mention the incredible little arts and crafts section and the sweet little art gallery. I cant manage to stay away from the place! A beautiful independent book shop with just about anything you could need as a creative personality! If you?re ever in Porthmadog and you happen upon this shop, do yourself a favour and go in for a peek! You?ll never be dissatisfied, there is something in there for every kind of creative mind!By far my favourite shop in Porthmadog

This follows the last review;A sadly predictable response. Obviously a misrepresentation of what was said and neither myself or my partner were rude. Lots of suggestions here for what we ?should? have done when all we actually did knowing our dog was dry and knowing that dry dogs are allowed was stroll into the shop to buy a book. Sadly there is no reflection whatsoever on your own tone or language. It would have been to your credit to have acknowledged that you dealt with this poorly. As it is, you add insult to injury by blaming perfectly pleasant (and long standing) customers. People never forget how you make them feel so please, in future, think about the language and tone you use and do not express yourself in a way which patronises, chastises and embarrasses customers.

Been a regular customer since the store opened. Called today with partner and dog. Last time we were in town a few weeks ago we were told it was fine to bring our dog inside so we happily ventured in today. Receiving an unpleasant stare from owner my partner asked if it was ok to have our dog with us. The reply was interesting: ?if I?d seen you I?d have said no but you?re in now?. Clearly we weren?t then comfortable to be in the shop so I said ok we can go out. The response was ?don?t be like that it?s just that I don?t want wet dogs shaking themselves in the shop but you?re in now so?? again, strangely passive aggressive. I said again ?ok we will leave although she is actually bone dry? to which the response was ?ha, well it IS raining?. We?d actuary been next door in the cafe for an hour and had gone in before the rain. The dog was bone dry. Anyway, we left. A couple of things: I have no problem with a no dog policy - it?s the owners choice. BUT?if it WAS ok, just say, yes it?s ok.OR ask us to take her out. Don?t say ?well you?re in now?. Who in their right mind would feel like browsing when spoken to like that? And should someone really be sarcastic (well it IS raining) make customers feel silly in front of a packed shop? Please just be straightforward. Micro aggressions and sarcasm are not welcoming to your guests even if said in a light tone with a half smile. It?s just not necessary. The visit could have been pleasant (if we had been asked to take the dog out or allowed to keep her with us) but your approach was snide, silly and disappointing. Almost spoilt the afternoon but all our friends in other shops made up for this. Porthmadog is fab

Lovely shop, with a wide variety of books, stationery, art materials and a little art gallery. Ordered a book which arrived the next day. Excellent staff.
