Went in mid afternoon. Place quite quiet but service was immediate, attentive and first class. Landlord was friendly, advised of the best seats for a sunny afternoon and was particularly good at describing the menu. Really enjoyed the visit.

I've been here a few times before, the food and atmosphere have always been great. Today the service went above and beyond. We moved to the area and stopped in while we waited for our keys to be dropped off and they were unbelievably accommodating of our situation. They let us use their car park, they arranged takeaway meals for us, they helped us unwind after a crazy stressful day. Massive thank you to the Butcher's team.

Relaxing environment, excellent and friendly service, food well presented and plentiful prices on average with most pub/restaurants.

Nice chilled out pub with great food. Definitely got more of a food pub than a drinking pub vibe, but that's what we went for.
Not a super cheap/budget pub, but the food was great. Definitely good value, the pricing was more than fair and the portion sizes were good.

Booked for a party of 6. The booking was based on previous experiences albeit around ten years ago. The previous experiences we had were exceptional which made our decision to return.
Unfortunately this visit did not meet our expectations.
The Sunday dinner was very underwhelming,bland and of little imagination.
The starter of homemade Welsh cawl was rather tasteless and again bland.
The service was to match the food unfortunately.
Having to ask for cutlery after our food was served and then waiting aged for it to arrive only to discover no spoons to eat the soup.
Followed by a drinks order being taken and no drinks arriving. Again we had to ask for the drinks.
The desert was nice but it's hard to mess up a desert.
Utterly disappointed with our decision to make a return visit in the hope it was the same standard as years ago.
Such a shame.

This is one of my favourite pubs. It is always a nice atmosphere.
We went here for a Christmas meal. Our entire party loved the food. It was absolutely lovely. Every single element was tasty. Service was excellent and we were regularly asked for drinks etc.
The atmosphere is great, nice older pub ambience.
One thing - I did ask for a 13 but they drew a 31.

Great food. Super friendly staff. No reason to give this place anything below 5 stars.
My only criticism is that they should post a photo of the menu more frequently on their Facebook, as the menu changes day to day - this would give me motivation to come in if I see something on the menu that I really like.

Fantastic local pub with amazing food, drink and of course staff. We have had numerous meals from the outstanding Sunday lunch to the budget menu, which by the way is more than worth the small amount of £16 foe 2 courses or £20 for 3, yes those prices are right!!! And another wonderful thing about this place, ITS DOG FRIENDLY!!!!!!??

The food was delicious, everything was freshly cooked, big portions with so much flavour. We had the Italian chicken, fish and chips and soup. I must mention the cheesecake, it was so light and tasty. Left the pub with happy tummies ?
