Wow! The most expensive Aperol Spritz ever ? I was charged £12.50! What a rip-off! I won?t be coming back.
The server didn?t know the price and had to ask her colleagues, who also weren?t sure. Eventually, she just came up with this price. Prices are even higher than in London!

Great beer and a fantastic location with lovely outside tables. Great atmosphere in the bar.
Food is a little mixed. It?s basic pub grub - freezer to deep fryer or microwave. Nothing wrong with it, just basic and fairly dull. Menu hasn?t really changed over the last 18 months - little creativity or innovation in the dishes offered - I feel they are missing out on not using lots of amazing local fresh produce from around Gower. There are much better places to eat.

Nice standard pub food. The chips were my favourite, super crispy

called here Monday with a vegan buddy and we're both very pleased with our food and coffee, very reasonably priced too and the food was hot(except bacon),much better than the the three cliffs cafe at pennard stores, highly recommend I'll definitely be calling back

A lovely place to stop after a walk at three cliffs beach

We stopped here for a light bite and a drink after walking around. A lovely girl served us, she was coping by herself and did an amazing job. Our friends ordered, salt and pepper squid, garlic bread and breaded mushrooms, we had cauliflower wing bites, chicken goujons and cheese chips, absolutely gorgeous, pipping hot, tasty, crispy coatings, cheddar cheese, dips, would try anything from the menu based on this, all sounds delicious.

Decent pub, but the food (which is not cheap) was terrible. Probably the worst meal I've ever paid for. The large empty dining room should have been a clue to what was to come, but this was as bad as modern food gets. Between £12 and £15 for undercooked freezer chips and something else you select off the
freezer menu, plus a dog-eared bit of lettuce or some dried, shrivelled peas. Why bother serving food when it's a half decent pub, it's just awful. And I'm being kind with this review.

5 stars for The Southgate. Visited with 4 adults, 2 children and 2 dogs and had a lovely time and delicious food. We mis-timed and the kitchen wasn't open, but the staff were very happy for us to stay and eat through the extensive bar snack selection. The staff were lovely, finding colouring books for the kids along with the other games available. The chef also opened the kitchen slightly early which was very kind. My veggie lasagne was spot on. Highly recommend a visit to this local.

Lovely pub. Quality outside with the sun being out.
Took 15mins before the bar tender turned up, chef didn't seem to want to get up and at least find someone.
That was my unfortunate circumstances, probably just unlucky on my timing!
Otherwise a tidy pint ?

I rarely leave a negative review, but £78 for 2 2 course Sunday dinners and a kids. Service was insanely slow, even though we were the only ones eating. 30 minute wait for cold microwaved desserts to come out. Food quality was nowhere near worth that amount of money.
Shame as we had a good experience last time, but won't be revising.
