“We were staying at America Farm nearby. We popped in of an evening for a drink and a packet of crisps. It is a proper pub for the locals, who were very friendly and welcoming, as was the landlord. The fire was lit, the Christmas decorations were up, very cosy. There were lads playing pool, it has a really nice atmosphere. We got chatting to a couple of locals. Apparently on a clear day you can see a number of Counties as it's location is very high up.We asked about booking for food on the Friday evening, all ok.We returned on the Friday, ordered a beef lasagne and the butter chicken curry. Great food, plenty of it, nice and hot, great price. We chatted to more locals, had a game of pool. Like I said, it's a proper pub. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Would recommend. ??”
