Yet another Very good experience at Specsavers Austin friars Newport , I was pleasantly greeted at the door to check my appointment time then seated down , and almost immediately was seen by another assistant to start my sight test . When that was finished, I was seated again for a few minutes then seen again for the second part of the test . I was very pleased with how they had explained everything to me. Then I was seated for the part of choosing the frames , but as I had lost my husband only a few years ago and he had bought the three pairs of glasses for me they had a lot of sentimental value to me so I choose to keep my frames and have my new lenses put into my frames , which they were very happy to do for me . I would definitely recommend specsavers , Newport for a visit, very pleasant staff and very efficient.

Friendly and helpful. Explained all procedures and answered all questions. Never rushed through the procedure although the store was very busy.

Note: no delivery. Follow-up appointment required to pick up. Rather than delivery + follow-up appointment if required to adjust glasses. Huge lack of design options for minimal designer frames (minimal look instead of loud or thick frames that stand out) or for frameless/rimless selection compared to last visit. Despite the high costs. Only a certain type of design suits me, and it seems the the sides that go over the ear can?t be mixed/matched anymore. There was a time when they offered various customisations and adjustments.
Would recommend due to the skills and knowledge and walkthroughs of the optician and updated technologies which are more comprehensive. Be aware that your previous lens design might not be available anymore and rimless designs are very limited now (at the store I was in at least), and it was difficult finding one that suited.
Ended up going with a designer with frames (only one matched closely that suited me with minimal frame design) instead of frameless/rimless due to lack of options (showed my previous ones from SpecSavers and apparently they aren?t made anymore).
I typically use for sunglasses and also decided to get those new night vision ones (2 for 1 deal) - I don?t actually need glasses (20:20 vision) but the features/add-ons for bright lights and reducing glare and other advantages make it worthwhile for me. I got all the add-ons (one of them requires frames anyway, so I had to get frame ones instead of usual frameless/rimless - but would have anyway due to lack of suitability).
For the amount of money (usually over £250 with all add-ons and features with designer or rimless + appointment costs) I?d have hoped for delivery of the new glasses, but I think another appointment to make sure the glasses are okay when worn and minor adjustments is important as well when picking up. Though would be nice to arrange a follow-up appointment after delivery if needed or some other solution/mechanism would be nice.

Check up appointment from Specsavers, I opted to pay the £5 for an advanced check on the health of my eyes by an Optometrist - Mahum Nadeem, whom I found to be an extremely pleasant young lady, knowledgeable in her chosen profession who explained fully to me what was happening, showing me images & what I was seeing. 10/10 from me a very friendly young woman

What a fantastic experience for me and my family, you identified a condition my mum had and she's already been in for treatment. They way you are greeted with a great big smile by a lovely lady and the guts work together as a team, the computers were down and my measurements had to be taken by a ruler, another colleague supported the young chap and it was a very natural interaction amazing team

Fab service greeted by Jan booked in .Waited 10 mins to collect them .My Levis distance glasses are great I have had several compliments.Also my reading glasses are brilliant too .Thanks for all your help and as always reccomend to other people

Great service as soon as you enter the store. Anne-Marie welcomed me warmly, took my details and directed me to the waiting area. I was seen in reasonable time and had my eye test. I then browsed for new glasses, selected 2 pairs (silly not to at those prices) and then had the usual measurements etc and costs, with which I was very satisfied. Picked up my glasses 1 week later and am very happy with my choices and also the fit
