It is very clean and very pleasant. It also quiets the noises outside, they are not audible.

DON?T stay here. Staff STOLE from my room. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I?ve had. When I arrived the member of staff who checked me in was very unfriendly and the whole place was very run down. What was also unnerving was that I seemed to be the only guest. I was staying for work (the hotel was in a convenient location) and when I returned to my room after work I noticed some of my belongings were missing and there was a keycard in the light switch thing next to the door. I went to reception to explain what happened and ask why there was a mysterious keycard in my room, and they replied that they liked to go into the rooms whilst people were out to make sure the lights are on for when they got back (?!?). And they denied stealing items from the room even though they admitted entering the rooms whilst unattended. A total breach of privacy. After confronting the staff I felt like I was being watched so I quickly booked a nearby hotel and packed up my things and put them in the car before anything else could be stolen. After speaking to work colleagues from the local area, they said that the hotel had a terrible reputation and it should be avoided at all costs. Please, if you?re thinking of booking this, find somewhere else. I can?t stress enough how uneasy I was made to feel after being stolen from and my personal space being invaded whilst I wasn?t in the room.Safety: Was made to feel very very unsafe

My first choice in Newport when working away very centralised and parking isn't to much hassle. Moh the manager is always available and keen to assist can't fault it.

Rooms: Had a great stay in a fantastic location. Right in newport town centre for the nightlife but also queit enough for a relax night. Also train station on doorstep so central cardiff minutes away.Special mention to Mo who went out of his way to help.

As an ex premier in this place should be good. I checked in around 4 pm and got to my room to find it was like a sauna, the heating was turned up to 27° I turned it down and left my tesco Clubcard in the switch to keep the aircon running while I was out. I returned around midnight to sleep to find the ac doesn?t work and the room is still hot despite the thermostat being turned down. I managed about 1 hour sleep , what should have been a nice relaxing weekend turned into loosing Sunday through sheer exhaustion. I would have opened a window for some cool air but their screwed shut. Lights in the stairway not working. Bar still not open despite the new owners being there more than 6 months now. They don?t seem to care, unhelpful and unwilling staff. Poor maintenance. And I would hate to see there electric bill with all the heat they are wasting. Next time I?m in the mercure, which is actually cheaper!

This was my main go to for work but I can't recommend the place anymore. There used to be breakfast, but now they don't even have an operational vending machine for a bottle of water. The card machines are like something from a 7/11 and not all cards work in them. They don't even have an operational printer anymore to print out a receipt.

Visited for one night and have to say the previous reviews made us wonder if we?d made the right decision. But check in was easy, corridors clean, lifts working and we had a keycard. The room was on the first floor and was spotlessly clean with tea/coffee available. Our only dislike was that there was a faint smell of smoke in the room and we were unable to open the window to clear the air. The smell went after a few hours but it did make is wonder if the smoke alarms actually work! Lovely hot shower and a comfortable bed, we paid £61 so were quite happy and would stay again.

Having stayed here regularly during Q4 in previous years I was expecting a fairly comfortable town centre hotel close to parking.Mostly that's still the case but this hotel definitely has the feeling of one that's close to closure. The reception desk was a mess of paperwork with one inattentive member of staff barely present, the bar/restaurant appears to have been cleared out, the screen behind reception seems to have had a chair thrown at it. In my room there were several damaged fixtures and fittings, and wifi access without an internet connection.Digging around online one can't help but feel that the directors being forced to pay a combined 75k+ by the tax man means that perhaps there's no will to pay for good quality staff and basic repairs. I'll be looking for a different hotel for my work trips in future.

We visited Newport 1st weekend in September to our surprise it was Port Pride weekend. Our hotel room was spacious, clean, had everything we needed. A hair dryer, kettle, with tea, coffee, sugar, milk. Shower was hot and water pressure was good. Bed was clean and comfortable. Towels white fluffy large and small, plus toiletries were provided in little bottles. We had a great time and we would stay here if we were in the area again. It's central to everything literally 2 mins from train station. We drove parked on ncp by travel lodge for 12.95 for 24hrs.
