I would recommend this garage ...I put my car in for an MOT and service ...firstly my car failed , but before any work or service work was carried out the mechanics phoned me...the lad gave a complete breakdown of what was needed ..after informing them I was happy with pricing ..they promptly carried out the work and had my car back all ready to go...excellent service thank you

I have always recommended Newport MOT and repair centre but after our experience with them today we won't be anymore.I have been having MOTs and services here for the last few years. I've always been charged £40 for the MOT and £80 for the service. This would come to £120 + parts.I had a bit of a shock when I learnt that they wanted to charge me £200 just for the service this time around and only found out when I rang up for an update.Not only this, but they decided they would order parts before even asking me if I wanted to go ahead. I felt pressured and obligated to then let them finish the MOT and fit the parts but declined to go ahead with my service.I rung up for an update after checking online to see how it was going and whether it had passed. According to the MOT checker, my car had passed with no issues. I waited for a call, but no call came. This is when I rang for the update. They then tried to tell me over the phone that the car had failed the MOT. I had to ask for this price and it seemed like they plucked the price out of thin air. They wanted to charge me £340!I still don't have proof that my car failed as they only provided me with the pass certificate and no copy of the fail certificate so I can't even confirm if the parts were even needed to pass.I hope this review helps someone out there. We feel let down by the garage. A tip I have for anyone - always ask for prices.

Allways use newport mot and repair centre, I think they are honest and fair priced and don't try to talk you into doing any unnecessary work and they prety helpfull with things or advice

I booked my MOT through book my garage, turns out they never sent it through to the garage, so I turned up at just gone 8 to be told I wasn't booked in. They still took my car completed the MOT and full service and even honoured the original priceFantastic service
