Lazy staff, couldn?t be bothered. So I?ve now closed my account and moved to a different bank.

Phoned a customer adviser, enquiring if we needed an appointment to open a new account and what ID is required. The adviser informed us to just call into the branch with the ID we already had. We travelled in, just to open the account. No other reason to go into town. Once there, no other customers present, we were told that we can not open an account in person, it has to be on line, at home! But, if we wanted to do this at the bank, the ID provided was not correct! for ID, they also wanted a letter from our GP for this, which would be written the same day, free of charge!
Er...No! We worked in lots of GP surgeries and we know for a fact, this information is completely wrong and we said so! The staff member put her head down and walked away. Waisted our petrol, parking money and time! If this is how they treat new potential customers, forget it!
Note: I'm dyslexic and using laptops can be a challenge. I did explain this in the branch. Also, what if the customer does not have access to a laptop or simply cannot operate one?

I went in Halifax for a specific reason. The member of staff, Shirley, was extremely polite and helpful. In fact I?m really pleased to have changed my account to higher interest. Thank you Shirley.

Eftychia Gkraiki, (Mortgage and Protection Adviser)
A massive thanks to Eftychia for guiding and advising on mortgage process by making it everything clear and easy to understand from the start, hopefully to the finish as she states she is leaving the Halifax soon, but we are extremely hopeful that we will meet her again to finish our mortgage application. She is absolutely understanding the situation of us, and incredibly friendly and confident. If we could not meet her again, we will wish her very best of Luck to her new career. Thank you Eftychia. My experience here was terrible, Lauren who is a personal banker treated me as though I had the plague, she didn't listen and was extremely rude. 3 times the job center tried to transfer money and Lauren accused them of doing it wrong!! In the end I shouted and manager was called, she actually told me off and said job centre was at fault. After much discussion and many phone calls it appeared that Lauren hadn't listened to me and updated my address and that was why my money kept bouncing!! Manager couldn't do enough then when they realised they were at fault and I received 50 pound compensation!!

Went in to ask is it possible to change some money. Something quick and easy to do supposedly the attitude of the cashier was not good as we did not have an account she said need to bank with a decent bank that is open and does not close half day!! A simple I am unable to do that as you don't bank with us would have been a better comment!!

Went in today to update a passbook and transfer money for my mother. The lady who dealt with me was very good but I knew it would take time and it caused a queue. No other cashiers available but at least 3 staff wandering around asking " Can I help you?" and you wonder why high street banks are closing.
