I'm a little disappointed, I've had good experiences at other CeX stores. I to my Mac in to be priced and it took 2 hours, I don't live close so I waited only to be told my Find My was left on it (this is fair enough but no help on how to take it off, I googled it in the end and I could have done it right there in store) I tried to get into my own laptop to take it off only to find they left the store login on it! I had to wait more hours to reset the whole thing again. You also can't call the individual store for help.

The staff at this CeX are lovely. Never had a bad experience here, although reviews may disagree with me. The staff have to deal with a lot from customers as I?ve seen in store myself, and people expect too much from a small branch such as this. Keep the hard work up guys, your regulars see you and appreciate you ??

Horrible experience. Wanted to return a phone within return period of 14 days... They didn't accepted, offered only to buy a phone back but for half price. Rubbish total. Never will use cex again.

3 members of staff and only 1 is assisting. The outcome is a long queue out of nowhere. 3 people left already. It's not the first time this happens here. It's as if they don't care or want to sale. Sad

We've been to this CeX quite a few times over the years, and it's pretty good for choice on consoles, controllers, games, cables, phones, etc.
Sometimes the shop offers good deals on what they sell, but sometimes they don't. To put this into perspective, when Game was open in commercial street, they had controllers on sale there for the Xbox one models, etc. These controllers were the base models by Microsoft, and CeX also had these controller models on sale. However, Game was selling the same controllers for less than what CeX were selling them for. Same models, same colours, and they were new. This was a while before Game started their sale before they closed down.
While there are some items that you can get here for a reasonable price, it's better to shop around first, but otherwise, this shop is a good place to shop at.
If they were more reasonable on some of their items, I'd come here more often, but I hardly shop here anymore. We occasionally pop in to see what new items they have and that's about it.
I do, however, recommend this place because some people will find a good deal.

I am absolutely disgusted my partner bought a macbook from this store and it?s ?on its last legs? says the man we called from APPLE, there are so many problems with this laptop it?s beyond ridiculous.
It?s overheating literally after 5-10 minutes of use leaving heat marks on my partners legs so we tried putting it on a table and never guess what?still didn?t help it was boiling as if it had been on for hours and hours, the battery life goes down really fast it?s supposed to last up to 4 - 5 hours until it should be recharged but no it doesn?t even last up to an hour, the fans get really loud when laptop is in use, the camera has never worked we googled ways to try make it work we literally tried everything and it has never worked.
We went to town early this morning and took the laptop in to see if we could get a refund or just some help with it and it had been in the store for 5 hours we are fumin as apparently there is absolutely nothing wrong with it and it?s completely normal but we called Apple the company it?s made from to get some advice for what we could do next and they said that there is definitely problems with it as they can see from the serial number we provided.
The staff are incredibly rude making jokes to eachother about our situation and one of the members of staff quietly said ? I wish I could give you a refund but then the company would be broke? as we paid £590 for it which in my opinion is quite extreme for a secondhand laptop.
We told the staff we weren?t happy at all and all they could do was give us a leaflet to complain I?m sorry but how is that supposed to help like seriously now.
I find it quite strange how there?s no numbers to call.

I?m a degree qualified electrical engineer, today a took my A1 condition, fully working IPhone in to their Newport shop. Only to be told that they won?t take it and the charge socket was broken. This was a complete lie and I have just inspected the socket myself and it?s in full working condition. The whole shop also smelled of bad body odor, the staff were extremely rude and more interested in talking to each other than serving customers. All in all not a pleasant experience.

I tried to sell a console but the member of staff was rude and abrupt and i had to leave.
Pontypridd store has great staff and great customer service, Newport store however is lacking in customer service and basic item knowledge and again are very abrupt to customers

The games are decently priced (most of the time) and the CDs/DVDs are quite often only £1 but I'd never buy tech from them or sell to them. Other than media, the rest of the junk they sell is just overpriced rubbish.

AVOID FULL OF BS!! Total waste of time!
Just tried handing in my DS lite to cex in Newport told I could get £21 in cash or £30 in voucher just told me to come back in an hour, then to get told that they will not take it because the damp indicator inside has activated. Looked up on the Nintendo website for DS light hardware turns out the DS light doesn?t even have a damp indicator. There is nothing wrong with the DS light I have tested it since coming home. All the cartridge ports work, all buttons are responsive there are no issues with the product. They just gave me some bs excuse so they didn?t have to pay me £21 cash & then wasted my time for an hour (I have a 3 year old and it?s cold today so thanks for that) if they didn?t want to take it they could?ve just told me if they?re struggling to sell DS?. Also they stuck one of their stupid stickers to it that won?t come off what was a nice cleaned product (also thanks for that)

Went in to sell. But Bristol CEX banned me. Bristol CEX sold me items like dell laptops. No electric leads. Of course they don't like the truth. Corruption is the word in that store. People are hard up having to sell. They double the price. Don't abide by trading standards law. Not fit for purpose. Use their own policies over law. They think they are law of there own. See why society is crumbling. Quite easy to analyse the truth

Went this shop just for a look, found a lovely white iPhone XR for £180, got told it had a new screen and it was a good phone,turned out the battery in the phone wasn?t apple and the phone just wasn?t good, took it back and they give me a £180 voucher and I paid a little bit more to have the 11 pro,they said it had a few scratches which was okay to me,then set the iPhone up to have a worse battery again and the speakers within the phone are absolutely rubbish and you can?t hear a thing. I don?t recommend this shop to anyone who?s looking to get a phone at a good deal. It would be cheaper to get a brand new phone with no issues
