Whilst staying a Quay West Haven we figured out that at low tide you can walk the beach to Newquay. About a 3hrs window. So one afternoon we did exactly that in search of food. We happened upon the lime crab with a few tables outside. So we stopped in. Now my experience of seaside chippies isn't great. Normally extortionate price. Poor portions and soggy food. But I can honestly say this place was great. Food was outstanding.good portions. Service good. Seaside prices but fair seaside prices. It was that good we returned the following day on the next low tide to try more of their scrummy food. I will come back to Newquay just for this place. Ps the gelato shop just up road is a must afterwards.
Returned two year later 2025 Lime Crab still excellent. £14 cod and chips. Decent size portions.

Great fresh fried fish and chips. Lovely location, staff and atmosphere. I had the seafood plater with mushy peas.

This chippy in new quay is a must we go to new quay regularly and this is the best chippy portions are good chips splendid and fish are big and fresh 10/10

The Lime Crab is absolutely one of the very best chippies I've ever visited. Everything is excellent, including the location.
Can't choose? Go for the seafood platter which is superb.
All the staff are an absolute credit to the establishment and a pleasure to be around.

We stopped into New Quay on the way home from Mwnt. We decided to have a chippy tea on a busy Saturday evening. Despite the 30 min wait (we walked around the harbour and sat happily in the evening sun) the food was delicious and well worth the wait. For a a family of 4 it was good value and at the end we all had happy faces. Definitely worth a visit and worth the wait! Service was great and all staff were friendly despite how busy it was. We would definitely go back.

It is a good value for sea side chippy. Big portions, good batter, not overly oily. I will be coming back for sure!

Absolutely amazing fish and chips.
The White Bait was amazing. Very generous portions.
The Gluten Free Fish looked identical to everyone else, not the normal cardboard like GF batter.
We ate on their terrace, the only odd thing was being told to take our rubbish over the road and put it in a public bin.

Very busy place, there was around a 20min wait when we went but didn't mind one bit. The cod and chips were lovely, big piece of fish too, child had the fish bites and chips and the box was fully filled. Worth paying the bit more for quality. Definitely recommend visiting.

Been here twice now in 3 days and that says it all. Lovely food, fairly priced, delicious. Fish was so fresh it just melts in the mouth.

Brilliant fish and chip shop, the portions are huge!!
The staff are super friendly and helpful.
When you order food you have to wait until food is ready, when they call your name you can then put your own salt and vinegar onto your chips. We then sat and enjoyed our dinner on the harbour!
Fantastic will definitely go again!
