What an absolute gem of a hotel.
We stayed for 2 nights. The staff were friendly and helpful.
The room was comfortable and clean. With it being an old building it had some definite quirks but was lovely.
The food was gorgeous with a very clear menu which showed which meals were gluten or dairy free. This made life so much easier as I have lactose intolerance.
Nothing was a bother and the surrounding area is just stunning.

We had a great stay at the Dragon. We're walking the Offa's Dyke Path and it was only 20 minutes walk or so from the path past the cricket club. The food was great for dinner and breakfast and our room was very comfortable, there was a great selection at the bar too. We'd definitely stay here again

Montgomery isn't overrun with places to eat. There's an interesting looking posh place but with limited hours, there's a chippy and a Spar. The Dragon looks fantastic, and on an early Sunday evening it was the obvious choice to eat with friends. The service was great, the staff friendly and attentive, the food was good and well presented and the whole atmosphere was warm, cosy and convivial. Booking might be a good idea due to the limited choice of places in the town, and check the kitchen times. We didn't stay in the hotel, but it looked historic and interesting.

I'm a local taxi service (Ross Cabs) and they use me for transporting their customers to and from the train station or bus station. They are always professional and treat me with courtesy.

Lovely hotel in a great location, food was absolutely spot on. Good parking facilities and the town of Montgomery is a must visit. A tad disappointed with many of the rooms not having a shower but still a lovely hotel to visit we?ll recommend.

Overnight stay. Staff could not have been more accommodating. Checkin and out were simple.
Breakfast was good.
Location to centre of Montgomery could not be beaten.
Only regret is not being able to spend more time in the area.

Service a little slow with staff in training, which is what has to happen. As I did only want a sandwich, choices a little limited. Good choice of beers.
