Wow wow...what a fantastic time we had, amazing food well balanced and well thought out using ' local ' ingredients. The Halibut the sauce was light and very buttery, dreamy. Thank you for a wonderful night.

Highly recommend!! We came here for our anniversary dinner date and it was a delight. Each dish was incredible and melted in the mouth, worth every penny! The wagyu oxtail blew our minds and the scallop tartare was so indescribably good. The restaurant has a warm and cosy atmosphere. The staff were professional and friendly, the toilets were pristine, no issue finding parking and don't worry the plates look small but you won't leave hungry, you'll just be amazed as each dish comes out.

This was one of the loveliest dining experiences we have ever had. I seriously cannot recommend this restaurant enough. It feels like stepping into one of those cheesy movies where someone who genuinely loves food and service and people has a dream of creating a restaurante that is different from everything else, do you know what I mean? And stepping into this restaurant makes you feel apart of that movie, makes you feel part of someone?s dream come true. I visited 2 weeks ago for my wedding anniversary and I was severely disappointed. The food was at best average with bland uninspiring flavours. The servers were robotic and led to a cold and clammy atmosphere.
At the end of the meal I requested not to pay the service charge as I didn't believe the service was of the required standard. The head chef promptly came over to our table and was borderline abusive. He showed complete disrespect towards both of our opinions.
I will not be visiting in the future.

Every dish or snack we were given was cooked to perfection. The ambiance was delightful as was the service. We could not have asked for more to celebrate a special occasion for the family. But I am particularly grateful for how welcoming the team were to our children and the standard of the dishes they were served even though they were not on the menu.

My wife and I spent a weekend here because we heard good things about this place. Our Friends recommended to stay in The Checkers mostly for the culinary experience. And it didn't disappoint. The service was outstanding polite and warm but quick and professional. The wine selection is worth a visit by itself. The room was cosy and very comfortable. And on top of all that every bite of food we had was full of flavour. Masterfully composed well balanced delicious dishes one after the other. Montgomery is a little jewel of a town. If you ever plan to visit we recommend you to stay here. And if you're a foodie like us start planning your visit now.

Dined at the checkers recently, I was pleasantly surprised how outstanding the whole experience was. Had the tasting menu which every course was perfectly balanced and overflowing with flavour. Will definitely be back soon with more guests so they can experience the same dining delight as I had. Thank you Andrew and Rachel.
