The food doesn't match menu description: since when was a steak pie Minced beef? Mash so peppery inedible for me? Lamb rump served as 3 x 50p sized lumps, parsnips, potatoes served diced so white, so bland husband didn't know what vegetable? Some seating not suitable height or support for dining

Food consistently good and at a reasonable price. Even though we may only call in every six weeks or so, we are always given a warm welcome as if we were regulars. Nothing is too much trouble - always great service here, the best in Mold.

When we first arrived we were placed at a small round table at the back of thr right hand side of the restaurant. The table was small and felt cramped so I requested we were moved. Which they did which was much better. The food was ok. My dad and daughter enjoyed their meals. However my husband and I both had steaks, which were awful. Chewy, small and very fatty.
The portion sizes or chips and accompaniment were disappointing. With about 10 chips. And very little peppercorn sauce. Even with 40% off the meal was not value for money. I had a glass of wine, which was 10.75!
Very disappointing, unlikely to return

I have a dairy allergy and this is always taken into consideration and care when I order anything here.
The staff are all friendly and helpful.
I brought my dog with me as she isn't used to being on her own and is partially sighted, the staff were lovely with her and I was really impressed with the dog water station, there was plenty of bowls and plenty of water to fill or top up with!
Went for a family dinner here, we all enjoyed our meals, plenty of choice for everyone's tastes.
Reasonably priced menu!
I'd definitely recommend and will return.
Wheelchair friendly.

We had a small wedding reception on wednesday and the buffet was wonderful. our guests all said what a great time they had and what a lovely venue it was. Thankyou to your staff for all of their hard work!

Amazing as always. We just had a large group in for a birthday party and the staff were amazing as always; Kind, funny and friendly. The food was outstanding and were happy to deal with all our requests. Such a lovely evening and was made even better by the staff.

So disappointed after our visit to Pen Y Bont tonight. Came for a meal out with 3 friends and it was all just a bit of a shambles.
When our drinks came the young girl had spilt some of the Pepsi max on the table. She apologised and that was fine as mistakes happen so this did not bother us at that moment.
Food came and two of us had ordered rump of lamb with mini pie. This was advertised to come with garlic roast potatoes and honey roasted Carrots. The potatoes certainly had no garlic and resembled frozen potato cubes and the Carrots came in a dish with the other veg, theses were 100% boiled with the other veg and not honey roasted. Not really what you expect for a higher priced main on the menu.
When we raised the issue with the server she said she was going to have a word with the chef as another table had the same problem. After speaking with the chef she said they were cooked properly with only light honey roasted... what ever that means. We responded telling her the Carrots where defiantly boiled. She apologised and said she would do something with the bill. This was a satisfactory outcome that they were willing to do something about it.
Whilst ordering puddings, one member of the party ordered a pint of beer, the same girl who came with the first drinks came with this and spilt it all over the table, it was a mess. Why she leant over 2 of us to place on the other side I do not know. It would have been easier to go around. No apology and did not even come back to wipe it up.
After waiting over half an hour for the puddings we chased these up to then be told they hadn't put the ticket through. We said to leave it and we would just get the bill.
After all of this we still had to chase the bill up. When the bill came I was shocked to see that they had in fact done absolutely nothing with the bill as they promised due to the issue with 2 of the mains. At this point we had all just has enough so just paid up and left.
Although we managed to have a nice catch up together, I really can't see us choosing to do this at the Pen Y Bont again.

Been here a few times, food is very good and the building's facilities and decor is welcoming... however, without a doubt, the feather in the cap is service... Particularly that of one person - Joe. He served me and my family last Friday. This is the second time he has served us. He is without doubt the best server we have had as a family in recent years. Atentative and accurate yes, but extremely friendly, personable, funny. Honestly if you get served by this guy I fail to see how you could have anything less than an amazing night. Never mind serving, this guy could run his own place and I hope one day he manages to. Awesome stuff Joe, you're just a truly wholesome nice guy, keep up the great work!

I came with my friend for lunch mid week. The service was awesome and very attentive. I ordered Hunters chicken and sweet potato fries and salad. The chicken was so tough, not a chance it fresh but if it was it had been so overcooked it was unbelievable. I didn't finish it but the sweet potato fries were lovely and the salad was ice too. My friend had a gammon dish which she was enjoying but then found a blonde hair in her peas. We told the staff but he said both the chefs hair was dark so he wasn't sure where it had come from? I'm sure they thought we had planted it lol. Anyway they took the money off the meal but very disappointed and would have wanted a nice meal instead.
