Got turned away and told the waiting list was an hour long. Place was more than half empty. Brief encounter with staff was enough to put me off anyway, rude and unwelcoming.

Table for 2. Food very poor, over cooked and poorly presented. Nice lady serving but food took ages. Half hour plus for main meal to come out then another half hour waiting for my 6 year old to get a brownie although they did give him spoon to wait with, we couldn?t wait any longer so we left and took him to McDonald?s instead. Over hour and half in restaurant for a poor burger and chips

Asked for quiet area was put by two tables of screaming kids parents done nothing asked to be moved was told no other tables available we left without having food

Staff brought my wife and I the wrong order after we had waited 45 minutes for the meal. The meal eventually arrived cold and over cooked.
Drinks were watered down as well.
Will not be going back. It's a waste of money.

I have always loved Harvester - mainly because of the salad bar tbh. My husband booked a table for 12:30 on Sunday 26th January 2025 and are order was taken very quickly, however there were no jacket potatoes so I had to chose an alternative for my meal. Thankfully the salad bar was well stocked and fresh (except for the rolls which were dry and hard) and I thoroughly enjoyed everything I stacked my bowl which I slowly ate while I waited ..... and waited ..... waited for the main meal. Meanwhile the guests continued to arrive - including several large parties with young children. Nothing seemed to be coming out of the kitchen and it was obvious there was a problem! By the time our main meals were served - almost 1hour after we had arrived - I was full of salad, but also extremely disappointed with what I was given - I did in fact laugh! The meal was incomplete (no coleslaw) and also badly burnt. The waitress said she would return the meal and returned shortly afterwards to advise me that it would be a while to replace. My husband accepted his meal - which was a mixed grill - which was also overcooked (but he was starving and doesn't like to complain). His medium-rare steak was well done; the chicken leg (not a quarter) was burnt and also over-cooked; the gammon steak and black pudding was like leather and the fried egg had a hard yolk but thankfully the peas, tomato and chips were at least edible. Due to the time factor I asked for my Camembert tart to be packed to takeaway which was arranged and I was served with extra fries and coleslaw. The waitress was extremely apologetic and admitted to difficulties in the kitchen - which obviously wasn't her fault! I also saw several other meals being returned to the kitchen - so this certainly wasn't a one off experience to us! Sadly my husband will never return to a restaurant that he has had a bad experience (which is unfortunate for me as I love the salad bar) so we will not be back, but this was an unfortunate incident and the waitress we had was great.

Booked Sunday lunch prior to cinema visit. Waited 20 minutes and still no sign of order being taken, so McDonalds it was!

Booked early for 80th birthday for my wife the table allocated was next to the window and was very cooled ordered rib eye steak medium. With a bottle of wine. Went to the salad bar lots of the items needed replenishing Had to ask for butter as there wasn?t any there . I?m on return to the table eat the salad wine had not been served had to ask where it was . Waited some time finished the salad before wine arrived . Main meal arrived after a long wait steak arrived but unable to to cut it as the knife wasn?t able to , had to go and ask for steak knives when they arrived was able to to cut the steak which was overcooked not able to eat either steak complained .would not be going back ever again not up to standard expected

Super slow service (1 hour+ for a couple of main courses) waitress ignores you unless they know you, several items unavailable on the menu, pretty poor

Haven't been to a harvester for years so decided to go for valentines lunch . Unfortunately, we won't be going again. Although a little busy it wasn't too bad but had to wait nearly an hour between starter and main. Food was dry, as if it had been under the lights for some time. Was gutted to have wasted so much food. Then waited 15 mins to get someone's attention to pay.

Today we attended Harvester Merthyr Tydfil reluctantly as on previous visits the food has been disappointing served luke warm but today our server Amy was friendly and helpful and the food was the best we have ever had at any Harvester the food was piping hot and the salad bar wasn't at all messy and mixed up
