Just wanted to open a savings account for my son same as i did last year for my other son. Full of Racist staff without reason trying to tell me theyll only open it with my sons father out the room, which wasnt a problem the previous year. They tried to say its because his not a customer but thats just bull. Leaving Halifax all together shouldn't be employing such disgusting animals.

If dogs are not allowed in this branch then there needs to be a sign on the door so that customers are aware of this. I often take mine into Abergavenny and Blackwood branches and I have never been told they are not allowed; in fact the staff always make a fuss of them. If Merthyr branch staff had actually helped me use the deposit point instead of being more concerned about the dog then I wouldn?t have had to queue for a till (with the dog) and subsequently have another 2 members of staff informing me of the no dogs rule (and still not offering to help me at the deposit point by the way). In the end I got sick of waiting and went to the post office, took the dog in with me and was dealt with within minutes by a lovely cashier.

staff always helpful and polite, queues get long from old ladies telling stories at the counter of the good old days or of how well their grandchildren have done for themselves.
