Initially, the in-store customer service at B&Q Merthyr was great helpful and friendly staff. Unfortunately, the rest of the experience went downhill.
My order was placed incorrectly, despite asking about batch-matching for tiles and being reassured they would match. Adhesive was ordered in white instead of grey, and although this was fixed over the phone, I was left £8 in credit and told I had to return to the store just to be refunded, otherwise the rest of the order wouldn?t be processed.
Drove back to the store, only to be told they couldn?t process the refund due to an IT issue.. reassured it would be resolved.
When I followed up with the Cardiff depot, I was spoken to abruptly and passed back and forth between branches with no real resolution. Attempts to cancel or get clarity on delivery and batch matching were ignored or mishandled. Eventually, I was told to refuse the delivery ? but Cardiff refused to collect the 5 boxes I had already brought home from Merthyr as part of the same order.
After multiple calls and a lot of time wasted, B&Q?s central customer support finally arranged a collection ? over a week after this began.
Very disappointing experience overall. A simple tile order turned into a stressful mess!

Absolutely the worst experience I?ve had from a large well known retailer.
Kept my £230 for 4 weeks and lied that they have collected my appliance on several times lucky I have CCTV to prove their deceit.
Think twice before having any dealings as the promise the earth and don?t deliver. No end of customers complaining of this service.

Paid a visit this evening (Friday 17th Jan 2024) and got a few things I needed.. just couldn't find the multipacks of sandpaper... Spoke to Jeff who instantly knew where they were.. and gave me aisle number, nearby location and where IN the aisle they were. Was able to go straight there and get what I needed. Such a helpful and polite man who clearly knows his stuff in this store.

Big shout out to Gareth who came to serve me with my Christmas Tree this morning (5 Dec). He was so helpful and friendly. He offered, which I accepted to take my tree and put it in my car. So good to have helpful staff.

The store is ok, some of the staff are useless (paint dept and kitchen manager) but there's a few good ones in Trade Point like Lisa (think that's her name) and the mustache guy
