Had a lovely meal yesterday (20th March) and I just need to say how friendly and professional the waitress was... Mya I think her name was... She was really lovely and made effort to chat.... She was friendly.. Bubbly and most of all good at her job. She's an asset... Thank you.

My partner had booked a table at The Old House restaurant for what was my first Mother?s Day. Upon arrival we noticed how busy the place was and no person was present to greet us. After walking around for 5 minutes to grab someone?s attention, we were told to get a drink to wait for our table and were left to our own devices. As we were shown our table, we were promptly given menus and had our order taken. Within about a minute of ordering our food, our starter came, shortly followed by our main course of a Sunday lunch. Both my partner and I felt as if the time period between the starter and main course was too short and very rushed, meaning that we were not able to finish and enjoy our food, due not being able to have enough time in between meals. We were also not aware that only Sunday lunches were on the menu as nowhere on the website had stated this, not sure if that is a mistake on our behalf having not guessed the fact it was a Sunday. However, we had not been here previously, so we were unaware of this. Additionally, during our short time at the restaurant, my partner and I felt very uncomfortable at our table as we noticed that this was were the waitresses and waiters would stand, and would often watch over us or gather to have a chat. There would be a number of times where a few would bump into my daughter?s pram whilst she was in there, startling her. There was one time where my partner got up to go to the loo, leaving his chair slightly out and one of the staff members kicked his chair back in, whilst given me a disgusted look.Upon finishing dessert, a waitress promptly took our plates, where there were then a few that stood over our table, again, watching us. This made my partner and I very uncomfortable to the point where we decided to leave, not even finishing our drinks that we had already paid for.Overall, whilst we enjoyed the food, however we felt as if our experience was hindered by how rushed we were and the attitude of some of the waitresses/waiters, thus leaving us feeling very underwhelmed. Not to mention, that we also spent a total of 45 minutes at our table, whereas it took us almost an hour to travel to the establishment.I have emailed The Old House about our experience, but are yet to hear back from them, almost a week on.

The food was nice but i don't understand why the food is double the price if you eat there in the evening. The cheese cake is£7-50 for a small pice. How do you justify it.

We stayed over here for a few days as we were invited to a wedding at the Orangery. The likes:- Staff are exceptional and so pleasant.- The views are spectacular! Living in the city and then experiencing this is just de-stressing.- The converted barn style layout is nice and different- Housekeeping is top notch- TV channel and app selectionThe dislikes:- If you sleep on the ground floor just bear in mind there?s a restaurant above you so you hear every noise. But if you have TV on it?s okay.- Our mattress was finished. Now this might not be true for all rooms but ours was.Overall a great place and if you?re near Bridgend or Port Talbot, well worth a stay.

You think the views good? Try the food! Just amazing. On my first visit I opted for the pie - very rare I order a pie but it blew me away! I?d struggle to order anything else now through fear of missing out. The gravy that came with it - unbelievable . Both bests I?ve ever had. Staff are super friendly too. This place is an absolute must visit.

The Old House is outstanding. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The food is superb! Stayed overnight with my partner for a birthday treat. The room was beautiful and very clean, and he'd arranged for a bottle of prosecco to be in the room for our arrival which was a lovely touch. The only downside was that the mattress wasn't particularly comfortable, but it didn't spoil our stay.Breakfast was lovely, full English and continental served in the restaurant with a spectacular view of the surrounding countryside. It's not a cheap place to eat, but it is worth every penny! I highly recommend a visit.

Sunday Lunch.Warm welcome from Tony (Front of House). It was very busy and the atmosphere was wonderful. Staff were polite and attentive. Starters were all served hot and were very tasty. The choice for mains was Beef and Lamb which were served hot accompanied by roast potato, parsnip and carrot. 4 choices of veg were also served. The quality and quantity of food served was excellent. Great meal, atmosphere and staff. Highly recommend a visit.
