We stopped on our way back to Stockport. The steak was perfect! We will make an effort to call in again as the staff were also very friendly and helpful.

I went to the Trout Inn for Sunday Lunch, having never been before and I was really Suprised with the outstanding Service and Quality of food. The Menu is very Clear and Simple to chose from... I understand that it only opens on Weekends.
I paid for the meal and drinks and left the pub extreamly satisfied... I noticed that I thought I had underpaid as my smart watch informed me of the transaction of £49, so returned to the pub to rectify... the lady behind the bar rechecked my bill, to my surprise the bill was correct.... I will definitely return soon for Sunday Lunch...

Stayed here with my family for one night during the Royal Welsh Show 2024. Really enjoyed it. Lovely pub. Landlord and staff were very friendly and couldn't be more helpful. Room was clean and reasonably priced. Food was delicious. We will definitely come back and stay here again. Would highly recommend.

Superb Sunday lunch here, with lovely Welsh craft ales too. Drying room and bike store for travellers as well. It was very busy when we went - clearly popular - but waiting time and value for money were fantastic! A great place!

Food & drinks: Enjoyed the food so much yesterday I returned to try the gammon as I nearly ordered it and I wasn't disappointed, lovely thick cut lightly salted and cooked perfectly.

My wife and I stayed nearby from out of the country. This was the first proper central Welsh pubs we went to.
My wife had the partridge pie and I had the cod and chips.
For the entirety of our time in Wales (we travelled north, west, coastal....) my wife was chasing the taste of the partridge pie that she had at this establishment.
She absolutely loved it.
As an American, the very first fish and chips I ever had was from here. People told me the coastal town of Aberaeron had the best, but having both, the trout inn was far better.
My wife and I stayed nearby and took day trips each day to the ends of Wales, and managed to make our way back to the trout inn almost every evening for a few pints.
We will never forget our time spent in this establishment and it was one of the highlights of our vacation.
If it means anything, the elder Welsh-folk come to this pub.
Get the Butty Bach and have a lot of it!

Such a fantastic, friendly, little pub. We?d been in a car, with two kids, for over 9 hours and came across The Trout Inn. They couldn?t have been more welcoming or accommodating.

The grumpy trout. Met in the car park (they were behind a fence) by 2 aggressive barking dogs. A4 or chalk signs everywhere (IN CAPS)...don't do this, you can't do that. Bar man clearly wiped Gravy hands in rear of is ripped trousers (not trendy rips but holes at the ankles). Service was OK but they need to work in their sincerity and how to phrase questions I.e. we had 'the boss said if you want to eat you need to order now!'. We had previously said we'd have a beer and decide.

Lovely place and beautiful surroundings. The service was fantastic and the food and choices were the best I have experienced in a while. Prices were very reasonable too.
