As we walked in off the street, without a reservation, we were greeted with a smile but an empty restaurant.A real log fire adds to the ambience and keeps the place comfortably warm.The food was amazing, wife had curried chicken and I had the steak and kidney pudding, the gravy was AMAZING!.Would definitely recommend going in if you're hungry and in the area.

We visit this wonderful restaurant regularly, and have never been disappointed. Sunday lunch is particularly good, good sized portions of extremely tasty food, well served and an excellent atmosphere.

We held our perfect wedding reception here on 22/12/2 in a beautiful, intimate setting (especially at Christmas time) with great food, drink and hospitality. Thanks to all at Illtuds 216, what a fantastic day we had with our guests in a stunning environment. We are so grateful for your wonderful service and attention to detail. Fully recommend. We have visited Illtud's on numerous occasions but this was our first Christmas day lunch, wow what an amazing experience, Illtud's is always warm and welcoming, but the whole restaurant was dressed beautifully for Christmas lunch, a lovely fire burning, tables decorated, hot mulled wine on arrival, so many wonderful courses, I can honestly say this was the best Christmas day lunch we've had, and we eat out every Christmas day. The staff as usual made us very welcome, and nothing was to much trouble, thank you all for making our day so special, kind regards Carol Goddard.

We love Illtids, however, it's not a 5 star review only due the fact that some desserts came with custard/ice cream and others had none. Lovely place though and the staff are always very pleasant and helpful.

Such a shame about the lamb as it was inedible,service very poor not asked if we needed drinks and basically they don't know a lot about hospitality.I will not be dining there again .....

Just love it here. Staff so friendly. Service excellent. Food magnificent and such good value for money. Can't recommend it highly enough. Please visit and support this wonderful independent restaurant in the heart of the Vale, beautiful Llantwit Major. ???

Amazing food, waitress new about my allergies and was able to tell me what to avoid and what could be amended. Quirky and cosy.Dietary restrictions: Lactose and gluten was catered for without fuss

The most delicious Sunday lunch the lamb was to die for! The roasties and veg were gorgeous and a huge yourkshire with the most amazing thick gravy!! Perfect!!
