Great building with character. A couple of cosy bars and pub grub was yum. Breakfast good, standard fry up, cereal, toast, yoghurt etc, coffee average. Rooms old/homely/ clean crisp sheets, large family rooms, slept well. Wifi ok but not to stream. Staff good/helpful. Even though its a little tired, i'd happily stay here again, great value.

Business model where they give you a parking fine of £170 for not filling out a form ? which they don?t tell you about. After calling and explaining we were never told about this form (even when asking if we could park for free when eating) I was told it would be too late to cancel the fine? even with a receipt and a pic of me with their food and my car parked behind! Clearly they have had this issue with a number of other customers so should consider making this clearer, but I suspect they make a nice income from it. Food was very average and certainly not worth the final cost of £250!!

Having gone for a weekend with our dog, we were prepared for a lot less than we got. Our suite was phenomenal. The staff are attentive, yet unobtrusive. The overall service was fantastic, the bar staff were chatty but not nosy. If you go with your canine, there are walks galore. If you go as a family/couple/other, the walks are phenomenal. There is history less than 200 yards from the Eagles Hotel, and even that has it's place. If you want history, nature, peace, and a comfy bed, then you can't do better than the Eagles Hotel. Also, with everyone counting the pennies these days, the prices are unbeatable.

A well stocked store, unfortunately with very rude staff. Being shouted because they were closing in five minutes, then shouted at again because they were closed, even though I had finished and was bringing my shopping to the till.Haven't been treated like that since I was at school many years ago. Very unprofessional and certainly would not recommend or return. Use the Londis over the road.

Appalling behaviour over the parking. I received a £60 parking fine where not one of 3 different staff made sure we were aware or had filled in the parking registration form when we arrived. This was for a mediocre buffet that my daughter didn't eat that cost us £35. When I rang the hotel they said they would sort out the fine i.e. get it cancelled and I didn't need to do anything else at all and so I didn't, but the fine was passed to a debt recovery company and has now cost me £150. I also emailed the hotel at the time but received no response that I could find in any email folder.

We came for lunch at the eagle hotel after a dog walk around llanrwst. We ordered sandwiches, burger and lasagna. The food was lovely, service was great and dogs are welcome which was fantastic! Would definitely recommend!! The outside area is lovely too with views of the river

Absolutely shocking getting a £100 fine for parking at this hotel for 13 minutes waiting for friends to come out of the pub. Asked the hotel by email and phone to look in to it with no reply. Don?t get caught not registering your car when you go in.

Customers have to fill out a visitors sheet to avoid a £60 ?unauthorised parking? charge - which I didn?t know, and none of the staff told me. In fact, their website states ?on-site parking? but makes no mention of the potential charge. On receiving the penalty charge (£60 if paid within 3 days of receiving the charge letter, £100 if not, negating the opportunity to appeal) and contacting the hotel, they say the charge is ?up to the parking company? - but who has contracted out their car park to the parking company?; exactly! Businesses that treat their customers like this deserve to fail. Let?s hope.

Our room was utterly filthy - it hadn't been hoovered and the bathroom definitely hadn't been cleaned for a long while. Dirty tablecloths, placemats and floor at breakfast and dirty plates at the buffet which a staff member said they'd wash up later when I pointed them out, with clean plates which were still wet then dumped on top of the dirty ones. All-round disgusting place and staff who don't care. Not a word of Cymraeg / Welsh spoken, despite the hotel being in Llanrwst. A real shame because the town and Conwy Valley are beautiful.

Visited for lunch with a friend and didn?t notice that they had a private parking eye that only allowed 1 hour , we were there just 1 hour 5 mins and got landed with a £60 fine , appealed it but still had to pay . Absolutely disgusting to treat people this way who are trying their best to help hospitality and tourism , such a shame because food & staff all lovely but won?t go back , just want to warn people.

We visited the restaurant for tea as we?d previously done so last year and enjoyed it. We came as a party of four adults, two small children and two dogs. Each of us enjoyed our food. My husband said the Steak and Guinness pie was the best pie he?s ever had. My Lamb Rogan Josh was really tasty too. The staff were really friendly and the man behind the bar advised us to make sure we registered our cars at the bar so we weren?t fined. We?ll be visiting again next time we?re in the area.

Avoid this place unless you want a pint and coffee to cost you 100 quid. We used to go weekly as live in the area. We went first day they had put in the smart parking. Youd expect when ordered drinks etc for someone to tell you about new parking charge? We recieved a parking fine and rung them as regular customers they said they would intervene on our behalf. They did nothing at all. I presume a % of parking fine goes to them. From being a regular customer to one that will no longer go anymore they will probably lose out. The staff tell me it started the date we got the fine but didnt say have you put your reg in or point to the screen as you think they would do. They never intervened on our behalf as they said they would.... well weve lost 100 quid but as they have now lost our custom as a regular they have lost a lot more..... thanks for the support on this matter.... I think not.

We stayed overnight, hotel is very dated , but very clean and comfortable beds although pillows lumpy. Bedroom door needs looking at .Modern ensuite bathroom with toiletries provided. Excellent quality breakfast included .would recommend

Stayed with friends here after doing Snowdonia. Upon arrival we was told our room was late to be cleaned so we had to wait until after 5pm! Once we got to the roof I can?t express how disgusted I was! Dirt everywhere mold all around bathroom tiles and the shower head made me feel sick! I couldn?t stay here and checked out immediately. We chose to stay in Maenan which was close to this hotel! What a complete different experience! Honestly wouldn?t Reccomend this hotel to anyone! It?s got nice scenery outside but don?t let that sell it to you!
