Lovely pub but do you have Burger Night on Wednesday or not? For goodness sake, keep your socials current, relevant and accurate. Just too frustrating.

This is a great traditional pub with a lovely traditional interior and great service. We sat with our daughter and my in laws in the beer garden. I had the minted lamb burger, my wife the falafel burger and our daughter the chicken goujons. All three were delicious. My in laws also recommended their flatbread pizzas.. The pub also has well kept hand pulled ales on from the Wye Valley Brewery, and Welsh bottled Reverend James from the Cardiff based Brains Brewery. Beer garden has nice views of interesting local architecture, mainly traditional nonconformist Welsh churches.

I booked the Whistling Badger for an overnight stay as I was cycling up from Cardiff to Holyhead, I had lost my phone and was a bit stressed. When I arrived I had received a lovely warm reception from Emma, she had heard from my partner who had phoned earlier that I had lost my mobile and it was also my birthday. Emma made sure I was looked after and made me feel at home, Ace pub, drinks were reasonably priced. The room was a bit dated and I'm afraid not that comfortable but I had such a good night, that's all I really remember thanks you Emma

The worst food I?ve ever had to pay for, limited menu should mean excellent food. Batter on fish was a shade away from black and my rainbow wrap (not vegetarian but one of the choices without chips) was dry tasteless and revolting, I left over half.beer was excellent though just don?t bother eating in here!!

I?d been admiring The Whistling Badger from afar on social media, and was determined to visit on a recent trip to the UK. It?s a very pleasant spot in a very pleasant town, quite clean and tidy. I ordered a cheeseburger and onion rings, not realizing that my burger came with fries. My wife got an order of fries as well, and between the two orders we had a massive amount of potatoes! They were quite good, and we managed to plow through most of them. My cheeseburger was very good, and generously built with two patties. I would have liked some mustard on it, but was told that the chef prefers not to have that condiment around as it is an allergen. It was still delicious. The star of my lunch was the onion rings, which were the best I?ve ever had! I?ve been a fan of onion rings for several decades, and don?t bestow this honor lightly. They were darker than the ones I usually see, but they were crisp and flavorful. Hearing a crunch when one bites into an onion ring is unusual, and the crunchy Badger rings are exceptional in mouthfeel and flavor. I?m going to have to figure out how to make them at home. To recap, the place is pleasant, the staff is helpful and efficient, and the food is quite agreeable. We made a special trip to try the place, and were not disappointed. I recommend it.

Staying in Llanidloes and decided to go to this pub for tea. Not dog friendly inside. Had a meal in the marquee at the back. Fish, chips and peas was my choice. The fish was clearly a supermarket, battered cod, which was cooked until very, very dark brown, almost burnt. My partner had tacos with the smallest amount of cheese. Most were left.

Went here for lunch after finding most of Llanidloes closed. The staff were incredibly friendly and talkative, and the food was amazing. I had a halloumi burger, which I would highly recommend. The HPA (a beer) was also supposedly excellent, as was the cider. Will definitely visit again.

We ate at the Whistling Badger during our stay in Llanidloes while walking the Severn Way. The food was extremely well cooked and tasty, surprisingly so for such a popular local pub.Highly recommend.
