Very quaint, oldy worldy pub downstairs, also quite small and close quarters. We stayed on a Friday night and the pub was very busy but there seemed to be only 2 staff serving drinks and food with one of those being a child. Food was nice, though didn't arrive quite as we ordered. The room was nice but the uneven floor meant the bed wasn't level, though it did add to the character of the building.Breakfast was spot on, we'd stayed in a few B&Bs through the week and this was the best breakfast we had by far, everything was just right.

Food & drinks: Curry and a pint last night: I had dahiwalrli chicken curry and it was amazing, with a lovely onion bhaji and crisp poppadom and naan accompaniments. Highly recommended.

Impossible to fault this pub and the owner. We were walking the Offa?s Dyke Path (2 miles from the pub). The owner collected us (by prior arrangement), made us extremely welcome and is an excellent chef. Top marks. Dinner was outstanding as was the breakfast, after which he drove us back to the foot path.Room was lovely, clean and very nicely decorated. The bar was lively with locals and tourists alike with a great selection of ales. 11 out of 10!

While staying in Glyn Cairog, we popped in the Swan for a few drinks. Lovely atmosphere, great customers, made to feel welcome. The landlord and lady are great hosts, quality beer, and very clean pub. The outside garden is beautiful. They serve food will be back to try next time.

Whilst on holiday in the area we travelled especially to this rural pub after reading the favourable reviews. We arrived 1.15 pm on a Wednesday lunch time after being guided by their website of their opening times. This clearly stated as being open from 12.00 mid-day on a Wednesday for food until 2.00pm. Alas our efforts were totally in vain as the door was locked and the place obviously not open. We were told by a couple of local folks that the pub ONLY opens when the landlord feels it may be worthwhile. Obviously having a big laugh at the travelling public?s expense ?? If this IS the case then surely please state this on your website and we, and other unsuspecting punters won?t bother to make the effort to visit you. They are most certainly in a very privileged position if they can open a rural pub ?on a whim? when it appears the mood takes them. !! We were looking forward to trying this place but regrettably we shall not be making a second attempt.

We really enjoyed our recent stay, so much so we are already planning our return. Its a traditional Welsh pub offering B&B....its an old pub so don't expect a modern open plan hotel . The food, both evening meals and breakfast is exceptional. Yes it's traditional " pub grub" but still very impressive. Fresh local produce, well cooked and presented and huge portions. Rooms are spotlessly clean and have all the conveniences required and are quirky ( in a good way) The Swan has character its fair to say All staff were exceptional, polite, helpful and friendly what more could you want. Cheers Rob & Samantha

An over night with breakfast. Absolutely wonderful. The room had every facility you could possibly want in a bedroom. Bathrobes, various teas, water, biscuits. The breakfast was comprehensive and beautifully cooked. The pub itself is quaint and vibrant, full of locals and visitors. A regular stopover location on the Offa?s Dyke Path, it has everything a long distance walker would need. The owners and staff are so friendly and welcoming. Can?t recommend this pub with rooms highly enough.

The room and breakfast for 2 was £100 and not worth even 60. Had to shuffle side on holding th wall as there was max of 8ins to get into the bed on either side. If a single bed was in the room instead of a double it may work. Turns out there was a bigger room available and it should have been shown to us. Very very disappointed would NOT STAY AGAIN AND DON'T RECCOMEND. Staff and locals very friendly. Worse room ever stayed in.Rooms: Worst room ever. Struggle to maneuver into the bed. Dated decor and accessories. Tv on wall overlaps a picture. Shower room tiny. Way over priced.
