My family & I came for lunch and were very impressed. The menu offered a variety of food and the portions were generous. We all had puddings and they ranged from the traditional Apple Crumble to a Lemon Roulade. The food was hearty and tasty. The meal was very reasonably priced for 3 courses each and alcohol. The service was excellent. A nice relaxed pub with a great menu.

We unexpectedly ended up staying here as we had been let down with another booking, beautiful old building, comfy bed, great location, friendly staff, would highly recommend.

We took the whole hotel over the weekend end of July 25, for a family wedding local to Llanfyllin and I must say the whole team looked after us fantastic with 22 adults + children. Nothing was too much trouble to them. Thank you again The Cain Valley first class??

We only stopped by for a drink, so I can only comment on that part of the business. Beer selection could be better. Nice atmosphere. Tables outside. Very friendly member of staff serving. Clean toilets. ??

The cain valley hotel was great, just what we needed on our way back from Llanbedrog. Amazing high quality food, was so tasty and kids loved it.

Lovely place?shame about the miserable bat behind the bar who wouldn?t let the children go to the toilet before we bought a drink. Needless to say we made a sharp exit without a drink. Just no need to be so rude in my opinion

Stayed here to visit a relative who lives in the town. It was ideally located for my needs. Nice friendly staff. Rooms are very old , in keeping with the building , which was very old with lots of history. Had a pleasant stay.

Room: just OK. Would've liked a mounted shower in the room, as opposed to one on the bath, and being above the kitchen wasn't great for smell - not much they can do about that to be fair!
Service: fine, staff attentive and friendly - if not a little stressed with a busy weekend of some event that was happening during our stay
Location: wonderful area, lovely town and surrounding scenery.
Others: the bar was good, didn't really rate the breakfast - car park very convenient, all in all, a perfectly fine stay and would consider staying again if my feet took me into the area.

Room was ok, quirky due to age, but needed dusting. Not clean. Shower door was hanging off. Evening meal had to be returned, inedible and poor quality.
Rooms: Large room but heeded cleaning. Dust on all surfaces.
Food and drinks: Breakfast OK, but little choice for cereal and drinks. Only orange juice available, no hot chocolate. Evening meal inedible, poor quality ingredients.

We absolutely loved our stay here. The room was beautiful and comfortable and the food was really good. Friendly staff and good value for money.
Rooms: Modern and spacious with comfortable bed. Bath only in our room but it has a shower attachment to hold.
Food and drinks: Really good food and drink here.
