Very welcoming, lovely beer garden - we had just popped along for a light, refreshing drink.

Lovely dog friendly pub serving excellent food and providing at least one cask ale, usually from a local brewery.
It?s very popular, so best to book in advance, especially at the weekend. Dave the landlord is quite a character, and a walking encyclopedia of dad jokes!
Elaine the landlady is always friendly, particularly if you have a dog with you! She conjures up lovely food, which is restaurant quality rather than pub grub. Her Sunday roasts are legendary. All of the staff are friendly & helpful.
They also have a lovely garden with plenty of seating and some swings for the little ones to enjoy.
Very highly recommended.

7 of us had the most delicious Sunday Roast dinner and puddings.
Dave and his wife were really warm and so welcoming.
We loved the dining area right next to French windows onto a beautiful large lawned garden. Our little one loved the swings (great touch)
Service. Food and ambiance was all rated 5 star from 7 of us
We will most definitely be back.
Highly recommend
Thank you

Went to this quite remote pub for lunch as part of a seniors day trip. A roast dinner of pork or beef, carrots, roast spuds, cabbage, mash and gravy with a yorkie for the beef eaters. Horseradish and apple sauce followed by apple crumble (way too sweet crumble topping for me but the apples were gorgeous) with custard and coffee/tea. Dont know how much we paid as it was in with the trip but it was very well cooked, extremely tasty and hot! Service was swift and the ladies were helpful.

We came here as a backup as our original place wasn't open and I'm so glad we ended up here. As soon as I walked in I just knew it was going to be a great place. The place, customers and owners where incredibly welcoming. Oh and the dogs to! ?
The food was absolutely delicious. Best meal I've had during my stay here.
Thankyou Dave and Elaine for such a wonderful evening ?

Three of us went here in July this year and I had to come back to write a review. We ?Stumbled? across this pub and it didn?t disappointed! All the tables were reserved for Sunday lunch, which speaks for itself, but the landlord sorted us out the last table by adding an extra chair. I thought it felt ?pub? cosy and the food was off the chart. Best roast by far. Simple but absolutely delicious! The turkey and beef were faultless and the cabbage had the best seasoning! We had broccoli cheese and baby potatoes too. We went back a few days later (without a reservation) and they were once again fully booked. If you?re lucky enough to get a table here, you won?t be disappointed.

A most unfriendly welcome, and basically told to go away. No problem!
Edit to add, as the owner has responded; we drive past, oh that looks a nice place to eat, we walk in, literally greeted with, and the only sentence said to us: "Whatever you want, we're full". Not, "hello, how are you - apologies, the restaurant is full this evening". There's a way to talk to potential customers, and that isn't it.

Friendly welcome, a huge choice on menu and delicious food. I had Chicken Korma and my husband had the steak pie. He said it was the best pie he'd ever eaten! Prices good value to. Would recommend and return if in the area.
