Stayed here for 2 nights. Greeted at reception by a kind and very helpful worker, Harry. Food was amazing. Highly recommend if you?re in that area, even if it?s popping in for food.

Went for sunday lunch here today, food very average, minimal veg between 2 people. When coming to pay we had to wait half an hour as the card machine had no paper which was no problem until we encountered a very rude staff member in reception, everything was a shambles - we were even told to get cash and go back or leave card details. We were overcharged by the bar also so check your receipts. Just come off the phone to the manager now to pay and he disagreed with most that was said and said he had checked the cameras on us and said we didn?t wait half an hour to pay which we did and then stuck up for the rude staff member and didn?t acknowledge that he raised his voice. Never going there again, terrible experience especially being 7 months pregnant and being with my 7 year old, he was very upset as we all were

Lovely little place, tucked away on the island. The road in is quite steep, and the mobile reception is poor, but the staff are lovely and the service was

Went here for a Xmas dinner with the company I work for. What an absolute shambles and what a wait of money. The meal was disgusting. This company pushed so many people and tables to past its max that those there couldn't move about or get in or out of there chairs. There wasn't enough vegetables to go around. Total total let down. What ever you do don't book a company Xmas meal here.Food & drinks: The dinner wouldn't have satisfied anyone. 1 x roast potato (which was microwaved. 1 pig in blanket. , 2 x Brussels 4 bits of carrot.

We had booked 2 double rooms at this hotel for 3 nights 24-26 October. We arrived late afternoon and were surprised to see only 1 other car on the car park, we thought at that time of day it would be busier.Initially we were quite impressed with what we saw in the reception area and across to what we guessed to be the dining and bar areas.Since it was so quiet we commented that we would be getting the best rooms to be informed by Ian on reception that we were getting 2 of their better rooms. If these 2 rooms were their better ones then we would not have liked to see their average rooms. All rooms had similar issues. We tried 3 all together because the one had a pathetic hand held shower mixer instead of a wall mounted shower but this room had other problems as well. With all 3 rooms as soon as you walked in there was a damp musty smell, the general look of the rooms was dirty and tired. Carpets looked worn and grubby, furniture that had seen better days, one room had a wardrobe with makeshift door repair and completely shelved inside with no hanging space. There were curtains hanging off the rails, a small dresser oddly placed away from the window that when moved back we found it was covering a burn in the carpet. Not that we got chance to use them but as someone else has said the mattresses felt as if they had seen better days and that was from just sitting on them. Then there was the advertised flat screen TV's in each room that were more the size of a small computer monitor. There are doors in each room that lead onto a flat roof that enable anyone to walk round to any of the other rooms, this could surely be a security issue. So after a very brief stay in the rooms, around 10 minutes, both couples were in agreement that the rooms were not of a standard that we would wish to spend 1 night in let alone the planned 3 nights and we went back to reception and asked to cancel with a full refund stating our reasons why.I don't know if this was a regular occurance but there was no arguement put forward to try and convince us to stay and a full refund was processed straight away.We would like to say that although we would not recommend this hotel as a place to sleep we can't comment on any of it's other facilities because we did not stay to find out.The only plus point from our short time at the Gwesty Carreg Bran Hotel was how polite and helpful Ian at the reception was, it also turned out that the one other car on the car park was his.Thank you to Ian but the hotel is one that we definitely would not recommend.Sadly we never stopped to take photos so that others could see the issues we have mentioned

This place is a dump. This is the type of place you would see Gordon Ramsay go to on Hotel Hell, I am not exaggerating. The only thing that feels clean is the sheets thankfully, everything else is very very worn down and needed replacing at least 15 years ago. The room stinks of old carpet, moisture with a hint of urine. Very musty. Come here only if you can?t find a box to sleep in.

Friendly hotel, remarkably quiet, given the location. I wonder if they focus on weddings? The meat in a mixed grill was remarkable, as was a steak consumed by partner. Decor in restaurant was nice. Staff were good. Very handy for either Anglesey or Snowdonia. Will definitely use again.

Went to a wedding evening party. The burgers were raw inside. We did inform the staff and they thanked me for telling them.

Just stayed here with a group from work. Whilst the staff were polite and accomodating and we were served a good breakfast, this is not a place I will be returning to in a hurry. The hotel is in desperate need of repair. The rooms are in a terrible state with an obvious damp problem. My mattress was way past its use by date.......Not great to actually feel the springs in your side/back as you try to get to sleep. I would have been demanding a refund if I had travelled here with my family.Images from 3 of the rooms we stayed in.

Staff were helpful, courteous and professional. The rooms are a little dated and in need of some attention but it?s in a pretty nice location.Rooms: Quaint, but in desperate need of some attention; which seems to be a work in progress so should be good for the next visit.Nearby activities: Easy access to anywhere, we stayed a couple of nights only to go to the Snowdonia Mountains Railway so can?t really say much about other places and things in the area. We did take a day to just drive around the island though which was nice.Safety: No issues with safety at all, rooms and windows close and lock.Walkability: Need to keep your eyes on the path, watch out for things left behind by inconsiderate dog owners.Food & drinks: Meals were delicious, and a decent portion served. The only gripe is that breakfast started a little late for our liking.

From start to finish our experience here was fantastic! Phoned to book a room and spoke to harry who was so friendly and accommodating, on arrival we were greeted by the manager Mei who again was so friendly and couldn?t do enough for us! Our room was lovely and we enjoyed a 3 course evening meal which was exceptional and great value for money. Aziz was the bar man for the evening and what can we say?.he was hilarious and good fun not to mention makes a great cocktail. We had breakfast in the morning before we left and once again the food was amazing! Thank you so much Harry, Mei and Aziz you guys made our night away and we will definitely be back again soon!
