We broke down at about 6PM in Welshpool in the snow, and as the RAC were hopeless, we decided to have supper and stay the night in the Goat in the centre of Welshpool, which was one of the more charming romantic lovely things I've done in my life. It had a lovely open fire, delicious food, welcoming host, hostess, and staff, and we felt rather like we were in something between Nania and Dick Turpin. The room was lovely and clean, and very good value indeed and saved our bacon! We would otherwise been sleeping in the car! Eeeeek! Thank you The Goat for a rescue and delightful experience

Quaint hotel, great service, delicious food. The location is excellent and there is parking in the rear of the building. And our dog was made to feel very welcome as well. Had a great stay!

Came for dinner on a Wednesday, was quite busy but were able to accommodate us. Very friendly atmosphere, friendly staff and good music. Food was great value, really good vegetarian options, the Quorn stroganoff was really good!

Lovely spot, good people, very friendly and helpful. The Goat Hotel was fully booked when we arrived at 9 pm, but the staff and patrons helped us find a local place to stay.

We are Americans who road tripped across Great Britain for two weeks and were so so lucky to have stumbled upon this absolute gem. We were made to feel extremely welcome from the minute we stepped in, by both the employees and the patrons. The decor is charming. When we were showed to our room, we were beyond pleased. Over the course of our two night stay, we enjoyed several meals that were absolutely delicious, met the so incredibly kind owners Aly and Richard, along with several other members of staff who were all so incredible and fantastic at their jobs. I cannot recommend The Goat Hotel enough. If we are ever anywhere near Wales again, you better believe we will be heading back to Mid Wales to go to the Goat.

We had a tire puncture near Llanfair and needed to stay there. Although there were no rooms available at the time, staff was kind enough to book us into the Holly House B&B. We had dinner at the Goat in the evening and were surprised how good the food and wine were. Definitely to be recommended if you like to stay in the area.

A lovely old fashioned pub with great food and a friendly atmosphere. The service was excellent. I have a nut allergy and the landlady was so attentive it was really lovely. Can?t recommend it more for food!!!
