It was the day of my daughters birthday, and we missed the opportunity of 2 bunnies from a breeder. So we went to Petsathome locally to see if they had some, unfortunately they stopped supplying rabbits.
My local store phoned Llanelli to check availability of rabbits, to be told, yes, 4 in stock, I was stood next to him as he introduced himself from his located store. I also rang the store before leaving, which is 1 and half hour car drive, to check they still had them on the same day along with a rabbit run, and explained it was a long journey to get there to find they wouldn't have them on our arrival.
On getting there, our children saw two perfect bunnies in the display pens, and when we asked to purchase, we we told flatly, and rather abruptly, we couldn't have them as they were allocated to the member of staff that was serving us! Also, the other two rabbits had heart problems. I was appalled at their response, where at one point I was faced with 4 members of staff debating the common sense of advising that these pets were pre-allocated before we left to our local store also considering the precautions we took beforehand.
I was also told they had a ruling, preventing them from selling the rabbits to anyone living further than a 20 minute drive from the store, strange as the rabbits are delivered to Llanelli from Bristol.
Following a debate with the staff at the store, I returned via my local petsathome store, where I spoke with the deputy manager, who was totally apologetic for the treatment we had endured, and he explained that he was not aware of any such ruling, and that the matter is being escalated to senior management to be dealt with.
An example of customer service the public should be aware of.
Our local store was exemplary in its response to the dilemma, more than I can say about Llanelli, who could not even offer an apology.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my recent experience has left me no choice. During my visit, I encountered five members of staff who were shockingly unprofessional. Rather than assisting customers or doing their jobs, they stood around chatting among themselves, displaying an openly rude and dismissive attitude to anyone who tried to ask for help.
They seemed far more interested in drinking tea and socialising than actually working. When I attempted to speak to one of them, I was met a curt responses, as though I was inconveniencing them by asking a simple question. Not one of them made any effort to listen, respond respectfully, or even acknowledge concerns.
This kind of behaviour is completely unacceptable in any customer-facing role. If management is reading this, I strongly suggest serious retraining or rethinking who is hired to represent your business. I won?t be returning anytime soon..

Your staff at this store are not knowledgeable and absolutely useless. You have 15+ cages at your store that state they are suitable for 2 dwarf hamsters but we were not allowed to purchase one as it wouldn?t be big enough for 1 small hamster. The girl that served us contradicted herself over and over and her advice was completely wrong to what the RSPCA website guidelines state. Won?t waste my time going there again we have looked after hamsters for 16 years with no problems!

Rude members of staff at around 5.30pm 1/2/25. Went to till with my daughter to pay for my items, was just told to go to the other side, then popped my basket on the till and waited while the 2 girls continued chatting and on their phones. Not happy at all, especially after spending just over £60. Have been in store this week already and had no issue with customer service. Clearly these 2 girls have little care or customer service skills.

I was visiting my home town in Llanelli and I popped into pets at home because I had a few health questions about my two chihuahuas. This lovely lady( I think her name was Lisa) was very understanding. I explained to her that I have health anxiety issues when it comes to my dogs after loosing my partner suddenly. This beautiful lady helped calm me down and reassured me, she had empathy and patience, listening to me carefully and taking the time to explain a few things, that I was worried about. I left there feeling like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders and I felt happier. I really appreciated her time and her empathy and understanding. I wish I could send her a thank you card but I don't know if I have the correct name for her but I really want to say thank you to her for being so kind and caring. Many thanks Louise

Used this store for a number of years and spent a quantity of money there overtime but today was the cream of the crop, asked for some advice on which product would suitable for my bulldogs and the attitude this trumped up young kid had was unbelievable in the middle of conversation she just walked off muttering to herself, my daughter and myself were standing there completely confused,.we both think she has big issues
I don't think I've ever met such an over egotistic ignorant person in my life. How on earth can a store like this have such an arrogant person front of house is bewildering.
I can honestly say that most staff ive dealt with in the past have been brilliant.
I for one will no longer be buying my dog food, toys and any other items from here until that staff member has had the boot.
One totally miffed ex customer.
