“Went for Thursday steak night, enjoyed a lovely meal, great service and food hot and enjoyable. The restaurant is at the rear of the property so no sea view but beautiful room and spacious. Maybe a little hot could do with air con but it was very hot outside on our visit. Staff friendly and cheerful. Will go again.”

“I stayed for one night as a solo traveller with some mobility issues. My room was ready earlier than anticipated and "little" James helped take my luggage from my car to my first floor room on arrival and again on departure which was a great help for me. The room was exceptional. Really comfortable bed and plenty of sockets.”

“Location is perfect, just a short walk from the railway station & right on the sea front. I only paid £41.63 for a single room, with breakfast (after applying a 12% NHS discount code). All staff were polite & professional. The hotel is spotless, well decorated and maintained. Left luggage is available. My very quiet, super clean & tastefully decorated single room (No 1, ground floor), was spacious, bright & airey (benefitting from a very large window, with two windows that opened). The view is mainly of the back of other hotels, with the moutains to the right. All furniture matched, ie double wardrobe, bedside cabinet, dressing table & stool. There was a modern, padded headboard. The wall mounted, full functioning TV, has a plastic wrapped remote control. This is returned on check out to be plastic wrapped for the next guest (super great idea). There is a wall mounted double radiator, which came on in the morning, & a seperate plug in heater. The bed, bedding & pillows were very comfortable. Drinks station was well stocked, inc biscuits & a hot chocolate sachet. The bathroom was well equipped with sink, toilet & shower cubicle. There was plenty of hot water & excellent water pressure from the shower. Free toiletries are provided. Towels were of a good standard. Breakfast was extremely good, consisting of a buffet style layout for drinks (hot & cold), cerals, fresh fruits, yogurts, bread / toaster. Table service for hot items, ie full English, etc. I would very happily stay here again & would highly recommend it.”

“Incredible views of the coast, and absolutely great location too.The hotel is just in need of some TLC decor wise. That said service was really friendly, beds were comfy, really tasty breakfast every morning. And super close to everything in Llandudno. The hotel does have parking, 5 spaces so if you’re early you’ll get one, otherwise it’s on street parking outside after that (which wasn’t an issue while we were there)”

“The Hydro is a large corner hotel near the middle of the long Regency style crescent frontage of Llandudno bay.It has a large car park to the rear. The classic bay windows at the front have now been brought indoors by the addition of a glazed conservatory style structure which allows for tables and chairs to sit indoors and watch the outdoors. The ground floor has recently been decorated in a nice light grey and white colour scheme whilst the other floors are still a variety of older colours from a refurbished a long time ago. This was the same for our room number 224.The walls were a beige with little red flowers as light brown veneer furniture. The en suite has a toilet, sink and bath with a shower running off the mixer taps. The breakfast was a very organised affair with allocated tables, set menus and a plethora of staff serving everything. The food was quite good overall. We didn’t eat there at night. The bar is well stocked and very reasonably priced, under £5 a pint for premium lager. There is a ballroom downstairs that has bingo and live entertainment each night Monday to Saturday and had a good crowd in there when we popped in.Overall the hotel is trying to maintain her dignity and glamour from a past era and doing quite well at it. She is a favourite for the older generation who stay for extended periods or overnight coach trip stops. The staff are excellent and it does look like the owners are doing what they can to keep the old girl afloat in these difficult Financial Times. It’s a shame we had to ask for shower gel and the like and were given one set each”

“Nice bedrooms with large bathrooms and stunning views, currently being updated. The dinner was good but slightly over salted, the breakfast was good value to start the day right before we headed off.”

“We had a fabulous time!We loved the vintage look and that the owner kept all the buildings original features. Our Room needed a lick of paint but other than that, it was clean and comfortable!Breakfast was wonderful! A really good selection of hot and cold foods, a selection of juices as well as tea and coffee. It kept us full most of the day!Staff are very helpful and chatty and friendly. There's a reasonably priced bar with various lagers, spirits, juices and snacks. The chairs were comfy and we spent some time in there playing board games. There are a few board games in the bar area for guests to use as well.I highly recommend using their WiFi. We were told to use it but didn't listen and later went down for the password. It seems most of Llandudno is a mobile dead zone! It's on the top of the main road of shops, restaurants and ice cream Parlours and a 5 minute walk from the seafront/Llandudno PierWe really enjoyed our visit and would happily go again!”

“1st real holiday by myself so was full of trepidation and self awareness. Booked on one of the coach inclusive deals and paid a reasonable price I thought but I didn't break the bank.5 days 4 nights in old money.Start with the positives.Staff friendly and helpful from the get go and not just one but the whole crew even if some are more knowledgeable about their location they really are a credit to the chain and hotel.Rooms, for what I paid my room was very good. It was spotless, comfortable, everything worked, towel etc clean. I know this should be a minimum but it's not always and I've paid a lot more before for a lot less. Even had an extra pillow and a good electric fan which is just thoughtful.Food , I cannot knock the breakfast really a 10 item cooked breakfast. Yeah I don't like everything but that's on me. Everything cooked to perfection. A good choice of none cooked items, self service or the staff will help you. Tea coffee OJ etc.As for dinners I didn't land to lucky here but they had normally 3 choices of cooked, salad , soup , chips and another potato option and vegetables. 3 or 4 dessert options. My gripe is that I love chicken so chose to have it only to find it had garlic and herbs which I don't like. The kitchen and canteen staff are 5 star all the way and work tirelessly.Didn't do the entertainment to tiredNegatives.Get the other lift working, it's chaos at times in particular when your own staff have to use it.If your going to put herbs n stuff on chicken and pork chops etc maybe do a few plain .I will returnNearby activities: It is literally overlooking the pier and within comfortable walking distance to the shops and centre for people who struggle with mobility. A slight slope to gain access back into the hotel but llandudno is flat. The pier has everything you need from any seaside pier without the excess, also has a Ferris wheel at the start of the pier to give you a giant panoramic view of the areaWalkability: Llandudno is flat in the main , I struggle walking long distances but I coped OK in the town. Easy access for chairs , frames and buggies.”
