wonderful pier, well cared for, opening times from 8am to 8pm however the time of closing can vary, if you want to get on there go for 7pm. I had some lovely moments here, thank you so much. The cafe at the end is lovely too, friendly people and great food. I loved the gulls even though they nicked a scoop of my ice-cream bless them! It was lovely to have so many benches to sit on and also memorial benches which was really moving. The only thing I'd say is [and I'm sure I'm not the only introvert who likes peace & quiet] - I would recommend keeping the music by the ferris wheel and arcade area at the beginning of the pier but no need for it all down the pier and at the end. I went there to listen to the peace and quiet and sound of the sea and gulls, and to reflect. I found the music intrusive further down the pier. It's nice to have some peace and quiet, it was loud music too. Thank you!

The girl named Reanne who staffed the halfway bar really made our day she was spot on so funny and pleasant ?

Love that the pier is so busy with so much to do. But it is a real shame that the disabled parking near the old pier gate does not allow for easy access to the pier due to the gates being locked . Is this permanent?

Since our first visit 2 years ago some things have changed. A token system now operates on the pier. £12 for 2 rides for 2 kids. The pier has consequently suffered a down turn in profits of 37% last year (Source chamber of commerce)The far end still provides live jazz and overall the pier is worth it but budget an extra £100 for a family of 4. (Food, rides etc). My 3 stars is due to the token system which is either to stop thieving by staff or a blatant attempt at drawing more money from the working class. Either way it's not such good news for the paying public.
