A lovely setting right on the lake. Unfortunately even though they offer a children?s menu (food only) they were not able to give us a child size milkshake when asked. They also do not sell suitable sweets for kids and would not let us purchase an ice cream from downstairs for the one child with us and bring it in to the cafe despite 6 of us adults eating meals and having drinks there. Feel they could show some flexibility when it comes to small children.

Standard, if not entirely boring fare.
Wonderful views of the lake.
Need to drive all the way round the lake to get to the parking area.
The lake is full of dead fish, and smells very unpleasant. Apparently blue weed (?) engulfed the lake and killed the fish. Authorities were too late to stop the carnage. A couple of pumps are being used presumably to oxygenate the lake but it's shocking to see big fish sticking their mouths out of the water and suffering.
Too many wasps to sit outside. Many inside, too.
This cafe has the potential to be really amazing given its position over the lake .

What a brilliant find ? was just driving along without a map or route planned and saw a sign for here....brilliant hour or so spent eating, drinking and walking

Highly recommended. I was camping in the area and needed a good breakfast. The food is great and the staff are welcoming and friendly. The decor is perfect for the type of food they sell. You can sit outside overlooking the lake or in the main cafe or conservatory all have views of the lake. There is a nessy/dragon water feature and various birds and nature on the water. There is a lovely short walk you can do or go on the water. There is a shop and ice cream underneath the cafe too. Its a beautiful place a must visit.
