Wonderful huge old hotel! Lovely staff, excellent food, great bar with a massive lounge area with sports on TV if you wish, but large enough to get away from if you're not into that. Also, the footpath up Snowdon starts practically right outside the door.
We come as often as we can.
Update, years later; Visited several times since last review, still wonderful, sat in the hotel garden last night with my family, wine and beer, then came in, we all had steak which was cooked to perfection ?

?????????? A Truly Caring Hotel with Wonderful Service
We recently stayed at the Royal Victoria Hotel in Llanberis and had such a lovely experience. Our room was comfortable and well-kept, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay.
What really stood out, though, was the kindness and thoughtfulness of the staff. After we had already returned home, we realised our young son had left behind his favourite blanket ? something that holds huge sentimental value for him. The team not only found it quickly but also arranged to post it to us without hesitation. They understood how important it was to a child, and their care and understanding meant the world to our family.
Alongside the heartfelt service, the location of the hotel is fantastic?right in the heart of Llanberis, within easy walking distance of the Snowdon Mountain Railway, Llanberis Lake Railway, and Dolbadarn Castle. Having all these top attractions so close by made our family trip even more convenient and enjoyable.
It?s rare to find a hotel where the service feels so personal, and this experience has truly set the Royal Victoria apart for us. Thank you to all the staff for going the extra mile ? you turned what could have been an upset into a happy ending. We will definitely be returning!

A real gem! Perfect location right by the Snowdon Mountain Railway, but far more charming, comfortable, and welcoming than the railway?s own offering. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Llanberis.

Please be warned the bar only opens from 3pm. The sign in the car park adjacent (parking for Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon)) is highly misleading - it states that the hotel is open ?ALL DAY? for drinks and food. At least you?d think it?d open by 12 for stating that. We were largely disappointed when we walked in at 2pm, after pushing a wheel chair round via the road to avoid the steps from the car park, and were told we couldn?t enjoy a drink like the sign said so, so we took our business elsewhere. Though the hotel was well presented, nice grounds and pleasant lady on reception.

we stayed here for 2 nights you know it's a good place when all the staff are smiling and happy we were met with a warm welcome there was plenty of car parking the room was in very good condition the bed was so comfy after going up mount snowdon there are lots to do within walking distance the prices were reasonably good will be back again thanks to all the staff they are great ?

Location fabulous, but the shower wasn?t draining, so upon inspection found there to be an horrendous build up. Reported it to the front desk & then went out for the morning. I came back 4hrs later & it still hadn?t been cleaned. I got no apology, which was very disappointing, as seeing that first thing in the morning made me ill. In the end I had to find a housekeeper to help. A simple apology would have stopped me posting this.

On this visit we had a short 3 night break, checking in on 14/07/2025. My 93 year old father was with us and it was important to make it a happy, memorable occasion. A very warm welcome was received at Reception, which is always a great first impression! Food was delicious with an excellent choice for breakfast. The lady who served our cooked breakfast was very helpful and friendly, as were all the rest of the staff. We had very comfortable rooms with good views. The hotel is in a beautiful setting and location with lots to do in the surrounding area. We?ll definitely be back yet again in the future! Many thanks to the wonderful team at The Victoria Hotel.

We stayed for 2 nights with the purpose of climbing Snowden. Room was exceptional with views to match. Bar and restaurant was quiet when we visited and the staff were very good and friendly. Being right on top of the Llanberis path was brilliant. Don't miss opportunity to visit the waterfalls (10 min walk) and the castle located behind the hotel (10min walk) both are stunning.
Only thing to note you have to put a door hanger up to have uour room cleaned (only found hanger after getting back for the day)
Would definitely recommend lots to do in the area.

This is an excellent place with a great location and delicious food. The staff is very welcoming, although it is quite expensive.

Called in for a drink, quite expensive and really poor service. Was made to wait a long time and didn?t apologise for the wait. Customer service had a lot to be desired. Won?t be back for a drink anytime soon.
