The owner of the establishment, Stefan, is a very wonderful and kind person. He helped us in a very difficult situation. We were going down with two children, and already at the finish line I twisted my leg, and Mr. Stefan helped to order a taxi. Thanks! Thank you very much! He treated me to warm tea, delicious food, pleasant conversation! Our family was very happy to meet you! We will definitely notify you when we arrive for the next vacation! Anzhela and Andrii. Your night visitors are from Ukraine. With love!

Penseunant ISAF is absolutely fantastic! The owner is one of the most cheerful and engaging people you could meet ? we had such a laugh with him. After finishing the Three Peaks Challenge, we stopped in for a well-earned cider, and he really looked after us. The atmosphere was welcoming, the service was top-notch, and the whole experience made the perfect ending to a tough challenge. Couldn?t recommend this place highly enough ? a proper gem!

After an amazing sunrise hike up Snowdon last weekend, we approached Penceunant Isaf.
I am currently undergoing cancer treatment, which affects my bladder and I?d been desperate for a toilet for miles. A man in pyjamas was standing outside (Steffan). I politely asked if they were open. He responded, ?What for?? I explained I needed to use the toilet.
His reply was so rude, ?Absolutely not ? you need to buy something.? I said I was happy to buy something, and he replied ?No ? wrong accent.?
I am from Liverpool and reading other reviews, he clearly does not like scousers and women!
He replied to my honest trip advisor review with complete and utter lies! Calling me ?extreme rude, demanding and entitled!? He said I am ludicrous for expecting me to open up his private bathroom. I never expected anything from him, he offered to open up his business if we bought something then changed his mind when he realised we were from Liverpool.
I hope others are treated with more kindness and decency!

Great coffee, fabulous host , a great, quirky place if you're looking to relax after the hike. Bonus points: it's got a fireplace and two lovely dogs.

We called into the pub at the bottom of the Llanberis Path for what we thought would be a quick pint?and ended up walking away with a memory that will stay with us forever. Steffan Roberts, the landlord, is more than just a publican; he's a storyteller, a soul-warmer, and a true embodiment of Welsh hospitality.
From the moment we stepped in, Steffan welcomed us like old friends. His warmth and openness were immediate, but it was his stories that truly cast a spell on us. As he spoke of his family home, the deep roots of his heritage, and the touching memories tied to his grandmother?s bowl and chair, we found ourselves completely captivated. It wasn?t just a drink?it was a journey through time, tradition, and heart.
There?s something quietly magical about Steffan. It?s rare to meet someone who can turn a casual pint into a life-altering moment, but he did just that. We left feeling uplifted, connected, and already dreaming of our return.
Thank you, Steffan, for the stories, the kindness, and the unforgettable experience. We truly can?t wait to come back.

Lovely stop. Had one of the local ciders and a wee Welshcake, both absolutely amazing ? would recommend, especially after a long hike

I found a member of staff quite rude. Just finished Snowdon and needed the loo and was bluntly told I had to buy something or walk to the toilets 10 minutes down the hill by the train station. Just thought he could have been nicer with his words!
Edit - I am not complaining that I couldn?t use the toilet, it was the way the member of staff spoke to me.

Turned us away at the door, saying it's closed, despite the open sign. A review previously mentioned it could be because they are full, however, in our case, they were still letting people in. So...just closed for us. I wouldn't recommend it if you were not willing to take chance of being served especially after a workout at the mountain on a rainy day. Just take a couple more steps and you'll find decent cafes at the town center.
We were 2 people. You let in 4 people after us. Pre-booking is fine, please turn the sign Closed. I don't think it is unfair to leave a review, an experience is an experience. If another foreigner wants to try, they have the right to know to that they might be turned away.

Absolutely wonderful little pub to stop at for a well deserved post snowdon hike drink (the cider is amazing - highly recommend) owner could not be more friendly, genuinely wonderful human who even went as far as to make me a little foot soak after our hike. Wonderful to talk to, lovely location, would go and visit everytime we do the llanberis path of Snowdon. 100% recommend.

After a long walk along the Llanberis Path, stumbling upon Pen-y-Ceunant Isaf felt like finding a hidden gem in the mountains. Nestled in a quaint stone cottage, this tea house radiates charm and warmth. The crackling fire, vintage decor, and handwritten notes from past visitors give it a cozy, lived-in feel that?s hard to find elsewhere.
Steffan, the host, is certainly a character?passionate about Welsh culture and clearly proud of his tea house. His enthusiasm adds a personal touch to the visit, although I can imagine his direct style might not be for everyone. That said, I appreciated the conversation and his recommendations.
The hot chocolate was genuinely one of the best I?ve had?thick, rich, and perfect for reviving tired legs. The Welsh cakes were warm, buttery, and comforting. Prices were very fair, especially given the location and ambiance.
