What a lovely place. Made very welcome , even when soaking wet from rain and with a very wet dog . Had two breakfast rolls and one evening Thai meal . Food was fresh and delicious. Would definitely recommend?

A lovely cafe on two floors in the picturesque town, close to the famous Brown?s pub where Dylan Thomas frequently drank. They serve an interesting selection of Asian and Western cuisine along with classic rolls and sandwiches plus a selection of delicious cakes. It?s dog friendly both down and upstairs and with friendly staff and owners serving and cooking the delicious food. The day we visited they were very busy and we had to ask again for our coffee having already eaten our savoury dishes but that?s probably testament to their good food, environment and friendliness of their business.

We had both Breakfast and dinner here. The owners are so so friendly and make time to chat with you. Vince - we?ll see you canoeing on the Wye!
Food is brilliant , some of the best Thai food we?ve had and the bacon bap was really good too. Looking forward to trying the cakes on our next visit.

Three of us were working at the castle over the weekend and discovered this amazing place right next to it. Incredibly welcoming and found places for us despite it being a busy Friday evening. The service was fast and friendly and the food superb. One of my colleagues is vegetarian and he was really happy with the ability to adapt any of the dushes to suit. They also did great breakfast baps the next morning. We are due back at the castle next year and will certainly use Poons again.

We?ve just got back from our trip to Laugharne, we just had to stop, and eat at Poons because the food is so delicious and the portions are amazing. If you are in the area, you really need to go and sample her food.
They do traditional breakfast menu etc but the Thai food is out of this world.
They also allow dogs, which is amazing.
They ate all so friendly and welcoming, too.

One of the best Thai Green Curries I ever had and I?ve had a few? we were desperate to order the following day for a collection but sadly our baby didnt get to bed in time and we didnt realise the place closed at 8pm ,,, we missed out as we were leaving this morning. Next time we visit the town it will be the first place we go to for a meal. Very pleasant experience and our 11 month old had sausages and chips and pretty much ate it all (he doesnt normally finish his meals) thank you so much we cannot wait to come back again! ??

Poon's Street Food, Laugharne
We visited here twice on 18 and 19 June, 2025. The first time we were trying to get take away fish and chips but the chippie we?d used in previous years was closed. We called into Poon Street Food on the off chance and had a delightfully positive reception, though they couldn?t offer F&C that night. We opted instead for beef burgers and chips and were also offered a salad. The burgers were some of the best we?d ever had, really excellent. And the salad was a lovely creation with lots of different salad items included. The whole experience of being helped by Poon changed a disappointing start to the evening into a lovely time. We enjoyed our takeaway meals sitting at a table beneath the castle looking out over the estuary, warmed by the evening sun. And afterwards we went back to Poon?s for some excellent coffee.
But after talking with the staff they offered to make take away F&C for us the following evening and so it was arranged for them to specially buy in the fish to cook for us. The next afternoon, therefore, at the time we wanted, they provided us with a really good meal, and another lovely salad, all packed into takeaway containers for us. Our whole experience of Poon?s Street Food was wonderful. Really good food and very thoughtful, friendly, and attentive staff. Definitely a place we can recommend, and which we will love to return to. We chose to ask for takeaway food, but could equally have chosen to eat at Poon?s itself in their cosy restaurant.
