2nd time at Dexter?s and yet again impressed. Will be coming back for sure. EDIT - came back again for the 3rd time, had the most fantastic roast Beef Sunday lunch, Rhian looked after us extremely well and is a credit to the team.

Having come here for a 60th birthday celebration, we had a very pleasant meal. The food was exceptional, the lamb in particular being delightful - a dish I would very much recommend. The atmosphere was quite quiet, but still enjoyable, although having been sat in the bar area I am unsure on whether it would have differed to the restaurant. The service was attentive, however it was felt the experience was spoilt through the frequent reminders and confusion of our table being needed back by a certain time. Although I am aware it can be a stressful situation, it created an unpleasant and rushed feeling to the meal. Though I cannot fault the food itself, perhaps the experience could have been a bit more welcoming.

Overall food was very nice and the steaks were great. However the deserts were overpriced for what they were: paid over £9 for a biscoff sundae which was literally just 3 scoops ice cream! What really ruined the experience though was constantly being told that we had to be out by 8pm to the point that it felt like the staff didn?t want us there and would rather we hadn?t been there in the first place. We completely understand if there is another table booked after us, though the constant reminders and being told by staff that we had 5 minutes left when actually it was 15 minutes was just insulting when we were spending a good amount of money on a meal out.

The best aged rib-eye steak I've ever tasted and a perfect combination with the Thorn-Clarke Barossa Shiraz. Will definitely return on our next visit to Wales. Service First Class. A wonderful experience.

Fantastic restaurant. Even the kids steak was incredible quality. Delicious, great portions, tasty salad, cannot complain. Definitely worth a visit if you like good steaks. Had medium rare ribeye, served to perfection.

Gorgeous little steak restaurant with superb quality food.I'm a bit on the fence about steakhouses as we prefer to make to our own tastes at home. However, this place is truly a thing of beauty. Food was delicious.

Popular place to eat with locals. Food was very good. Just wish dish came with more veg. Don't think 2 small bits of broccoli count. Meat very tender. At £24 not the cheapest.

Excellent steak in a friendly relaxed atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and service very good. A small and intimate restaurant and we will be visiting again.

Delicious Sunday lunch. Lamb and beef were farm supplied and you could really tell. Flavoursome and cooked to perfection. Excellent service. Will definitely be back.

Not just one of the best places to eat in Laugharne, but probably up there with one of my favourite places I've ever eaten. The steaks are better than any I've had in London and we enjoyed our time there so much we booked the roast on the Sunday too. The photo is of the cheese souffle which I had as a starter to the roast and would highly recommend, beautifully cheesy, but also very light. Perfect to prime you for a big roast!

So, so, so wanted to be able to write an amazing review - I'd been looking forward to my birthday lunch for quite a while as, after a high cholesterol warning, I rarely eat red meat but this was going to be special - I was at Dexters! We had booked for 2pm - it closes at 3 so some issues may be due to the timing of our meal so here goes... Meat - machine thin sliced (like you get at most pubs). I wasn't expecting it here but I guess this keeps them in the mainstream in terms of price (£17.50). I would happily pay more for hand carved, better beef. Yorkshire - was cool and soggy. Veg - the swede (side) was more butter than swede. Some people might like this but not for us. The cabbage and carrot served on the plate were lovely. The roasties had been hanging around for a while but not too bad. The cauli cheese - lovely but not cheesy. Gravy and horseradish - lovely. I did provide feedback - the waitress looked surprised but clearly wasn't taking it anywhere. Hope to come back and have a better experience as I'm sure this restaurant can do better.
