I organised our Running Club Awards night here and I really can not fault the service that was offered. From the day I spoke to the venue to book the event, to the time we checked out of our hotel room. The venue as well as the rooms were spotless. The service was fast and effective during the event, the food was fantastic with plenty of it. Nothing was any trouble for the staff, they were very accommodating and they did their very best to make it an event to remember. When we came down to have our breakfast I could honestly say that you would never know we had an event there the previous night. The place was immaculate. Can not thank the staff enough. Would highly recommend.

We came here for afternoon tea in 2022 and it was fantastic. Came again in 2023 and the standard has dropped. Not sure if they have a new chef, but the experience was disappointing and unfortunately we won't be returning.

I live locally and love coming for coffee with friends. I have recommended it to other friends who have stayed here when visiting me. All have raved about the accommodation and service. I always bring visiting friends for lunch or afternoon tea. Never had a criticism. I have my two dogs with me who are well behaved and welcomed with water bowls and treats, and we sit in the lovely garden room overlooking the front of the hotel. Lovely views of the surrounding hills. I?m totally gutted they are selling the hotel. What a huge disappointment as there is nowhere else like it here.Noteworthy details: Delicious food and great coffee. Sensibly priced too. Beautiful setting. Really friendly staff.

A gem nestled in beautiful grounds surrounded by fields and woodland. We love to come here with family, friends and as a couple; for afternoon tea, evening drinks, dinner, and recently we stayed overnight after a delicious meal and enjoyed the whole experience. It?s such a lovely place to relax. We enjoyed eating in the conservatory. We had a beautiful room overlooking the front lawn and fields, such a comfortable bed! Lovely cooked breakfast. The staff were all great; attentive and professional but relaxed. The owner is really wonderful and welcoming. I love this beautiful old country house, it?s a really special place. Look forward to our next visit.

I went for afternoon tea, with friends. We had a delicious tea, three choices of sandwiches, a huge scone with jam and cream plus cakes... we all took things home. The only niggle was the way a young man maybe the bar manager spoke to a worker. He may not have been happy with that person's work or lack of, but don't do it in earshot and view of guests.

Fabulous country house hotel. Beautiful setting. Lovely staff. Beautiful charming owner. Fabulous food and tea. Would love to return but we live in Ireland. Cannot recommend too highly. It was a special journey for us.

Wonderful location for a weekend getaway but unfortunately ruined in part by the ridiculous 20 mph limit in all built up areas. This alone will make our decision to go elsewhere easy. What a shame as the resort have done nothing wrong. Apart from the speed reduction the staff and facilities were excellent.Nearby activities: Don't bother going to the steam railway. £35.10 each return for a 12 mile trip. Totally over priced. We turner around when we saw the prices. You could upgrade to 1st class for an additional £16 each!!! Enough said. Went to Devils Bridge Waterfalls instead. Great value and well worth the trip.

We went there for afternoon tea, the sandwiches and cakes were delicious, and the service was excellent and the view from the hotel was fabulous. We didn't have a room because we weren't staying, but I'm sure they were very nice.

We only went to the restaurant and didn?t stay in the hotel. The location and building is stunning and there is plenty of parking.I had high hopes for the restaurant based off the kind of place this is, but was extremely disappointed with the food. I had the Falcondale burger and asked for added Welsh Rarebit, and was honestly surprised at how bare it was. The burger is literally a bun and the burger itself, thankfully I added cheese or I would have needed a litre of water to survive the dryness. A burger that doesn?t come with any sauce. The fries were very greasy, which I like but my partner did not, that?s just personal preference. My partner had the Chicken Teriyaki which was in desperate need of some spices, extremely bland and boring. It was a nice place but unfortunately I won?t be dining here again and do not recommend eating in the restaurant.

Booked a VERY last minute stay here for August Bank Holiday weekend 24 hours notice! The hotel was lovely our room was amazing and large enough for our dog to wander about! The bag of goodies was very much appreciated for him! All the staff were so accommodating and couldn't do enough for you! Food was lovely and drinks weren't overly expensive compared to some isolated hotels that charge more just cause they know they can. Grounds were lovely and would definitely go again

A characterful house in a beautiful setting. The view over the valley from the house is stunning. All the staff we met were very friendly and did their best to make our stay special. We ate breakfast and dinner here both days we stayed and the food was delicious with good portions. The steak was particularly good.Although the public areas were well decorated , our room was outdated and needed improvement. We would stay again as we enjoyed our time here.

Had a great stay here in Room 12 that had a small balcony with amazing panoramic views of the Welsh countryside. The room was well equipped with a Smart TV and a comfy bed. Bathroom was a bit of a disappointment - it all works but it's dated - who uses pillar taps in this day and age!? Shower was disappointing too - not very strong. Room was very clean and the hotel is well isolated from external noise as it is well away from the town and roads. Can be a bit tricky to find the place also.
