There was a very friendly welcome once inside this pleasant village pub. There were also excellent pints of Speckled Hen - not chilled but served, as English beer should be, at a comfortable room temperature. The fish and chip deal was very reasonably priced at £20 for two (we recently paid more than that for one) and the food was well presented and generous. We did find the combination of television and loud music a bit disconcerting but, to be fair, the volume was reduced after a request. It might also help if smokers were encouraged to be a little further from the open door - it felt as if they were in the room with us. But that is a comment that could be directed at many pubs. On the whole it was a pleasant evening out.

Great meal this evening with friends. Fish and chips, huge portion and beautiful cod. Homemade spicy and flavoursome chicken madras with rice, popadum and naan and lightly battered halloumi, salad and chilli dip. Very well looked after. Thank you Rob, Kerry and Jamie.... We'll be back

We had a lovely dinner here while we were stranded by flooding. Met and chatted to locals and well looked after by our hosts at the Sitwell Arms. Lovely experience ?

Joke. Doesn?t open until 2pm on a Saturday? Now the only pub in the village and doesn?t take advantage of the situation or want the business clearly. Just as they were improving this has brought them right back down again. Won?t be returning.

Had a great meal. Local butcher supplied the sirloin steak which was delicious. The wife enjoyed her hunters chicken as well. All side dishes were cooked fresh and washed down with their selection of wine and ales. Lucky to have this as my local..

Very disappointed. Looked at the opening times advertised on Google. Walked over 4 miles to get there, and it was closed. So had to walk all the way back to the car with out a rest break. So don't waste your time going to this pub, because they may be closed.

7 for Sunday lunch and 2 veggies. Separate gravy, roasties and a squash/nut roast. Choice of 3 meats for us. The cheeses leeks were stunning, as were the roasts and yorkies. Reasonably priced and a local and lovely atmosphere.Deserts are varied and lush. Defo recommend ! Ana Gunn

A pub sorely in need of a dimmer switch. It's still freshly painted, very clean and very bright inside. Too many pubs remove any semblance of character or potential cosiness by blasting the customers with bright white light. There are no shadows here. Think of the money they'd save on electricity if they created dimmer lit areas.
