A really wonderful meal in a lovely setting. Every course was delicious, starting with butternut squash and pesto soup, then marinated chicken salad, yummy slow cooked lamb for main with an amazing truffled mushroom risotto and much much more through to cheese board, coffee and toasted marshmallows. Hugh creates the most brilliant food and was the perfect host to this unique outdoor dinner party. Highly recommended - we?ll definitely be back.

A very special place in a beautiful location, with amazing, inventive food. I don't think I've ever been so well fed as a vegetarian anywhere before. We left feeling full & happy. Hugh may not be here much longer, having his eye on a pub nearby, so go whilst you still can, you will not be disappointed.

I ate here last weekend as part of a group of 13, along with 2 other groups of people, so around 20 people being fed at once, by one man...
...and that man has perfected his craft in this obscenely perfect location to perform said craft.
The food was genuinely excellent, the location is relaxing in a way very few places can be, in that it felt both casual whilst also feeling special and exclusive.
Every course was delicious, the chef is a fantastic host, the location glorious. I, honestly, can not think of a better meal I've had in the past few years I absolutely can't remember having a meal in a better location in the UK ever.

Our experience at OFFgrid Gourmet by Hugh was simply wonderful! Set in an absolutely gorgeous location, it provided the perfect backdrop for an evening of finger-licking food?truly a feast with an endless array of delicious dishes. The smoked duck was a standout, cooked to perfection, but every dish was a treat. From the mushroom and truffle quiche to the tenderstem broccoli in miso sauce, walnut salad, and homemade hummus, each bite was packed with flavor. Finishing the meal with toasted marshmallows by the fire was a delightful touch. Plus, the BYO wine policy makes it surprisingly affordable. A magical dining experience that I can't recommend enough!
Vegetarian options: Hugh caters for vegetarians and all meat courses can be substituted to veggie options - which are superb!

Incredible location and amazing food. It was a special occasion for us as a team and this was the perfect place to celebrate. Hugh was a fantastic host and left us in complete awe of his skills as each dish surpassed all expectations. Highly recommend to all. We will definitely be back!

So SO tasty. Lots of courses and plates to share, every dish 100% delicious. Lovely atmosphere. Make sure you're hungry! So distracted by the wonderful food I didn't even take a picture. Dog friendly.

Absolutely incredible experience!Me and my partner enjoyed outstanding food and it just kept on coming, Hugh is very talented chef and I cannot recommend this enough, it was great to watch him cook and the barn is in a beautiful rural setting.We will 100% be back and cannot wait to book again.

This was a very unique and enjoyable evening, filled with excellent food and good company. The food was very tasty and of gourmet standard, with plenty to fill even the largest of appetites. The setting was magical , like a romantic medieval banquet. Candle lit and rustic. There's not many restaurants where you can converse with the chef whilst he cooks in front of you. Thank you Hugh for a very special evening.

Just wow. A culinary feast with a very talented and humble chef. It was remarkable how much Hugh did by himself, the food just kept on coming and was some of the best food I had ever tasted. Rib of beef, the most incredible artichoke and truffle tart, massive chunks of cheese, it was such a lovely surprise to not know what was going to be put down on the table. You share dishes with others on the table, it was lovely to talk to everyone. Just hope that you?re in the same night as people who really appreciate the concept and the talent on show, because it?s such an amazing shared experience. We will be back with family and friends, totally worth the 2 hour drive.

Absolutely incredible. Could not fault its from start to finish. The atmospherics and beautifully thought of courses only add to a fantastic evening. All credit to Hugh (chef) who not only cooks and prepares the food in front of you but is also hosting and serving at the same time. Highly recommended. I'll definitely be back.

The food was mind-blowing, the atmosphere was so relaxing and friendly. Well worth booking and going. I WILL HIGHLY RECOMMEND Off Grid Gourmet for an evening and food you'll never forget. I will be going again!
