Quite spacious with loads of books. And some of them are as cheap as £1. Quite unique with used books and new books. U can find a different level of experience here surrounded by all these books.

We were surprised how small the library is, considering the nature of Hay-on-Wye. It definitely made up for its diminutive size though. This is a real hidden gem. We are visiting for a few days and I wanted to pop in to find something to read about the local history and my partner needed somewhere to set up a laptop and do some work. The lady running it was so friendly and it feels like such a strong community vibe here. Hot drinks available on a donation basis, free toilets and comfy seats. We sat in here for about 90 minutes before exploring the rest of the town, a little better equipped with some knowledge!

This is a fantastic library space. The library staff do all they can to assist people and the relaxed vibe, barefoot librarian on the day I visited..! was perfect for destressing amongst a fine selection of reading and educational materials and computer access . The Covid situation is not preventing Hay library from providing an excellent service - outreach or in-house. Many thanks, you are stars. Hope we can prevent closure of this invaluable resource for the town.
