Will I dance all night long ???

£400 for a shabby room for 2 nights with cable ties holding showers together, rusty broken, radiators, mildew and slap dash paint jobs. The wedding venue is a beautiful location but was understaffed. Also, its £7+ for a pint after the wedding party has spent all that money and the guest have paid to be there is incredibly tight firsted and incredulous.

Lovely venue. Loved the outdoor seating area and bar. Drinks a bit pricey but expected. Only negative was the drive there. Very remote with miles and miles of country lanes to negotiate. Would def recommend though ?

Lovely spot but they really need to do something about the bar for drinks especially when evening guests turn up one person trying to cater for all absolute shame ball's

I completely agree with other reviews
Maybe a review of charges
A lovely venue in a great setting ...but unfortunately overpriced accommodation because they can charge what they due to the fact that it is miles from anywhere down a single track road and people who are attending a wedding want to be on site to enjoy the celebrations.
Room was quite basic considering the price charged with a very small double bed. Our room was the smallest in the hotel itself and we paid exactly the same price as all the other guests. It seems you all pay the same no matter if you are in a cottage or a room.
On the Friday night the food supplied was pizza chips and salad which was priced at a premium considering it was just your normal boxed pizza from a supermarket. Drinks from the bar were fairly priced.
Breakfast on both mornings was a buffet style... We learnt after the first morning that if you go down a bit late the food is cold and the tea is cold and stewed so the Sunday morning we made sure we were waiting for the door to open. Also there isn't enough seating in the function room for all guests for breakfast.
The function room where the Friday evening pizza the wedding breakfast and morning breakfasts were served was absolutely freezing with no proper heating on you could see everyone's breath.
However the wedding breakfast was delicious and well organised and the staff were second to none during this time.
Other than the accommodation and the venue being cold it was a lovely wedding because the bride and groom made sure we had an amazing time.

Staff great. Everything was clean. Cooked breakfast was nice although they did ration the the sausage and bacon oddly. When we went we had high winds. The function room and cottage were cold. The bedroom of the cottage was OK.

We got married here yesterday and the staff at Gellifawr were incredible! From letting us set up the day before and having hands on help from Jo and Rea, to the wedding day making sure things were going smoothly and we didn?t have to stress about anything! The staff all working were so helpful and just so accommodating, even when there was snow getting rooms ready for guests to stay in! So grateful for everything they did for us in making it our special day!

Attended a wedding in Oct 24. Stayed for 2 nights.
Very basic accommodation and of poor value for the money spent.
The accommodation was sparse with poor quality furnishings.
The breakfasts was extremely poor. For example only 1 sausage and 1 rasher of bacon allowed per person. Only one cereal type on the first morning. None the 2nd. Tea and coffee were weak and I suggest of the cheapest options. There was not enough seating or space for guests to eat. Also the tables and chairs were not laid and I don't think the tables had been properly cleaned from the previous evening.
These are minor annoyances compared to the following. There was no member of staff on duty overnight. The Health and Safety implications of this are too horrendous to contemplate. There was a power outage overnight but there was no staff on site. Mobile phone signal in the area is very poor but there are no contact details shown in the place anyway. Nothing in the rooms or at the reception desk.
The power cut and poor phone signal are not the fault of the venue. Though this is a fairly remote country area, so an available landline with contact details should be provided or better still a member of staff be available on site.
Also an alternative power source should be made available.
How this establishment can be rated by the Tourist boards I cannot understand.
I would not even give it 1 star but it will not let me post this without showing one.

We got married on the 7th November 2024 at Gellifawr.
The venue and location are absolutely beautiful, and it was absolutely perfect.
The venue, grounds and surroundings make for some amazing photographs.
We have to say a massive thank you to the whole team at Gellifawr. They were all incredible on the day, and we can't thank them enough for making our day so special and for making sure everything went to plan.
We had so many compliments on the venue, the team and staff, and the food, everyone had an amazing day.
From our very first visit, including booking, taster evenings and every query in between, everyone was amazing, nothing was too much trouble, and the team were always on hand to answer any questions, no matter how big or small.
They really made our day so special and the experience was amazing. Everything was incredible, and they made our dream wedding a reality!
We really couldn't have asked for a better venue and team. You really did make our day that bit more special with everything you did.
Thank you all so so much for everything.

booked in to this venue for a family wedding, was allocated a room which was really tatty, needed a good clean, infestation of flies in the bathroom, mould all over the windows bath, shower, toilet and sink area, no blind on bathroom window.
bedroom carpet was in need of a good clean as was bedroom furniture, complained straight away to reception whom told us they would deal with it, they cleaned the bath and removed the dead flies only for them to return the next day!
it was a family wedding so didn't want to make any fuss and ruin the day but should have been worried straight away as they took £300.00 of my credit card on arrival.
on the plus side the breakfast was very good, one other thing is we were ushered into a bar area with no heating and it was a cold night, place needs some love and money spending on it and if you are booking a wedding there insist on looking at the guest rooms not just the ones for the newly weds and the immediate family.
I did email my complaint to the venue and to date I've had no reply!!!
