If you want a quiet romantic weekend away then this isn't it.This is a fun pub,spa and sports bar all rolled into one. There was a few celebrations going on in various rooms and there's a lot of rooms. This hotel is massive with the spa,the main bar, dining room, the lounge and the outside areas all huge. Our dining table was reserved for us, service was good, plenty of seating and a huge t.v. showing the Rugby. Our food was good, hot and we enjoyed it especially the chocolate sauce for our deserts. One thought,I think they should make this a dining room only and keep the sport screens for the bar area. The Huge Bar was a bit lively with a big group of Irish enjoying themselves and plenty of people sitting around the main bar which has another four screens above it.Outside of here you have the conservatory lounge which leads to the gardens but these were shut off for the time being perhaps only being used for weddings. Our bedroom overlooked the back, scaffold was up at the time but didn't block any view. The go faster wallpaper and carpet was great, the shower was adequate and the t.v. was the biggest we've seen in a room. Overall it was a good price, buffet breakfast was ok,dinner was ok,the children I think need there own little sports room, they need a new carpet throughout but the two girls who welcomed us were great.Unfortunatley we never used the pool and the spa. Marstons have a pub across the way called The Running Hare which is handy for a nice escape on a Saturday afternoon.

We have used The Village Hotel, St Davids, Chester on many occasions for several of our staff and they have always have had an enjoyable stay without any problems. The staff are always extremely courteous and helpful, along with their Managers.Rooms: The rooms are always very clean and comfortable. Extremely good value for moneyFood & drinks: Breakfast is very good value. We do not book evening meals so unable to comment on this.

Positives: convenient location, great breakfast, staff are friendly and as a guest you can use some of the leisure facilities. Restaurant, bar, coffee shop all on site, plenty of parking.Negatives: Rooms are tired and desperate for a renovation, no air conditioning, no ventilation in bathroom, in the common areas there were a few buckets catching rain water dripping from the ceiling. Overall I'd say if you're just looking for somewhere to rest your head for the night it's fine, but personally I wouldn't want to spend any more time here.

Me and my friend recently stayed at the hotel, all the staff were so friendly and welcoming. We had a meal at the bar&grill and the food was amazing. Room was really big and clean. During our stay we went to the retro night, overall we had a fab night!

Stayed for 2 nights, Staff on check in desk very friendly and helpful . Had a drink in the bar whilst waiting for our room to be ready . The bar was mainly empty with no atmosphere and felt more like a waiting room than a bar. The hotel itself is very tired feeling. Carpets in the corridors are worn and lifting on the stairs. Paintwork is worn and chipped everywhere. Our room was clean but very tired. Extractor in the bathroom didn't work so the ceiling had a lot of mould. We stayed in the club room but felt no different to a normal room . Pics on website still show clubroom with a coffee machine and better bed, but apparently that has stopped sometime ago. The pool was small but clean and warm ,also the steamroller and sauna were lovely. Staff were all friendly but wouldn't really like to stay here again.

Had a few weeks here now and the staff have been great, Rachael and Naomi in the gym go above and beyond. Well worth a visit. Breakfast in the morning is run by heather and she does a fantastic job. They have a great sports bar with plenty of screens. King size beds are great and the power shower hits the spot after a hard days work.
