Feeling a little let down at the moment by the gym. The showers are constantly cold. Considering canceling my membership.

Unfortunately, I lost my job and was unable to continue the next 10 monthly paymentsIn these 10 months i did not use this gym once .Some time later i randomly had a call saying if i iTook another 12 month contract. My debt would be completelywiped, and I could start freshGreat ? ?ButNow I've now I've been told managers' discretioni and will not wipe arrears £400 and apayment needs to be made before I can join.again plus £56 in.advance.I was prepared to pay new membership and start fresh contract but sadly not anytime soon

Most run down Nuffield branch I?ve been to.A lot of old and broken equipment, sauna is small but ok, but full of people complaining about how bad the gym equipment is. Steam room is forced to work by people tipping water in the sensor, jacuzzi is filled with chippings, it?s an embarrassment for what used to be the best gym/health suite in Cwmbran/Torfaen. Heard many complaints and nothing gets about it. Like most, unfortunately I?ll be looking for a new gym after 10 years of training here, as the price always goes up but lack of service provided. Not to mention, you hardly get a smile or acknowledgement from a few of the reception staff. This place has died off over the years and will continue as long as people keep paying the prices in hopes it will get better one day.Hopefully this is an acknowledged and improvements are made for the sake of staying members.Kind regards

Shambles of a gym the monthly fees doesn?t meet the standards so much equipment is broken and incompetent managers. I feel sorry for the reception staff that have to deal with constant complaints whilst the managers hide upstairs and the deputy managers on shift have no idea how to deal with complaints. Lovely young blonde lady on the reception Thursday evening though who really tried to emphasise and overcome my frustrations she is a credit to you -whist the other lady didn?t want to know whom I think was in charge her resolution was ?send an email ? not really the standard you expect to receive and Managment is never to be seen.What a shame Jackie isn?t still around she lead this gym brilliantly!!

The gym has nearly 4000 members and they still are trying to get more!! Unfortunately the gym floor equipment is very old and tired with many cardio and weight training equipment in disrepair, in fact if 40 people were in the gym it would be rammed to capacity and people would be standing around waiting to use equipment.. which just shows the greed of this supposedly charity organisation it?s disgusting the male changing rooms are freezing cold even when the outside temperature is just above zero they still have the air conditioning on , total waste of money and energy the changing rooms have wet floors constantly and the shower areas can be dirty and very slippery on occasions. They have leaking sinks and urine residue on the toilet floors the temperature of the sink water is tepid at most so washing your hands and shaving is definitely not hygienic. The steam room is great but people do complain about the temperature being too low in the sauna! Now when I joined the small pool was called a hydro pool Nuffield has changed the name to a vitality pool so that they can turn the temperature down to about the same as the swimming pool, therefore removing all benefits from the water, over half the therapeutic jets no longer work, and that?s if you can stand the temperature. What the gym management does not realise that there?s still a sign in the building calling it a hydro pool and not a vitality pool, then the aqua aerobic classes are brilliant and they have many participants, though if you wish to use the steam room etc during this time be aware that you have to navigate around the whole pool not ideal for less mobile persons , to reach the rooms !! Now this so called health club turns over close to a million pounds a year!!! Yet they are constantly trying to save money by turning the water temperatures down and not replacing gym equipment that?s broken but insisting that a company is coming in to repair it!! I?m tied to a 12 month membership unfortunately but I can honestly say that from the day Nuffield took over this gym it has been in decline. The place is a shambles and a disaster with a serious accident waiting to happen.. so please don?t join !! Definitely not worth £50 month

I left this gym a few months ago because of the degrading facilities and just how busy everything was. The pool times overlapped with swimming lessons. So frustrating. They also had the cheek to close the spa in the winter.

I left this gym just after the Christmas holidays, partly due to the cost of living crisis and wanted to cut back on my spending but mainly because of the conditions of the gym and closure of their hydrotherapy pool. I found the staff friendly and somewhat helpful in person but over email I found myself having to pry information with a bit of back and forth. It's got plenty of parking on site which is good, as the gym was always busy and with the broken equipment was limiting what machines you could use a lot of the time. I did notice machines with signs saying they were broken and we're never removed, bikes, running machines and some weight machines. The gym however was clean enough, they also went through a bit of a renovation in terms of painting within the gym over a couple of days which was good to see and was really needed. The swimming pool area had tiles missing, paint coming off the roof and walls, the jacuzzi was out of service the last time I went which was annoying, however that steam room and sauna were fine. In summary, expensive, old equipment which is likely to be out of service, no hydrotherapy pool, can be very busy, not enough machines.. this is just my opinion but looking at some of the other reviews they all seem to be saying the same thing.

I have been a member of the gym for the last year and have cancelled my membership. The gym staff are nice and always accommodating. The main swimming pool is definitely the best in Cwmbran. Unfortunately the gym upstairs is very small and lacks a lot of equipment, there is also a lot of broken kit that never seems to get fixed. The changing rooms are seriously in need of a renovation! In short it's definitely not value for money.

Staff are nice and they keep it clean but there have been dumbbells missing for MONTHS! 32kg, 36kg, 40kg.. these are essential for training and as said have been missing since the start of June, it's now the end of September and they are still missing. I mentioned this to the maintenance guy at reception about 2 months ago and nothing has been done. For £45 a month you expect to have a full set of weights.

Nuffield have recently decided to close their hydrotherapy pool. This is extremely disappointing as I use every time I'm at the gym. If you are considering signing up, don't. The gym is mediocre at best, the best pool facility has been switched off for autumn and winter 2022 and the steam and sauna are not switched on early enough for early gym goers to make the most of. Normally I would use the hydrotherapy pool whilst the others heat up. This place is a joke for the monthly cost.

The gym itself is very dated. Equipment is broken alot of the time. The pool area is not bad and it's the reason I joined but even the pool facilities break down a lot. Doubt I will continue after my 12 months are finished
