Very nice local pub, welcoming and friendly. Food was nice and fresh with generous portions. Heating was a bit high, so I felt like I was melting, but we definitely enjoyed our visit.

Despite the ?? and the ? results the pub is rocking with everyone making the most of a bad day. Down to one cask ale but the Lee?s Bitter is in great shape - a pleasure to drink.

Stopped off for a bite and a pint on the way home. Lovely busy pub, only seats available where outside but with a view like that, it?s ok with us. I opted for a lamb roast and was the best I?ve had for a very long time. The wife enjoyed her stew and the little one her children?s chicken curry. Highly recommended.Parking: Parking around the back but we parked down by the river for a little stroll.

We had a wonderful lunch here, the food was outstanding all warm hearty home coocked meals, the staff were very welcoming and the scenery was breathtaking. 6 very happy ladies... we 100% would recommend visiting this beautiful little place and would definately return if we visit again.Parking: Parking at the rear

We have had a number of meals here so at the end of a day visiting we elected to have a meal at the Grouse. On entering ( 4.45 ) it was crowded with mainly drinkers. We were offered a table in "the dark room" -- it has light bulbs giving off a dim orange glow ( on our past visits we have avoided this room ) glad to say when viewing the menu we were able to use the light on our phone......... Ordered whitebait for starter with two steaks ( well done ) for main course. After a while a young lady came to our table with-- two steak dinners ! on enquiring as to the whitebait starter She returned to the kitchen to check. Seems my order never made it to the kitchen ( i ordered at the bar ) We started to eat & when i got to the steak it was--- rare..... We finished the meal & left, seems our request for well done steaks never made it to the kitchen ether........

The food was amazing what a lovely place and setting but the wait of around 40mins from starters to main course was very disappointing especially after a 4 hour walk to get there But good enough to return
