This is a review for their Cast Iron restaurant..I've been here previously for a couple of drinks and I absolutely love the venue. The country club and hotel decor is stunning and the staff are very friendly.I'd heard from a few people that the restaurant isn't great and that the food was average at best. I always take this with a pinch of salt, as restaurants can have bad days, etc.We popped in for a drink before the boxing last week and decided to grab a steak. Again, I love the decoration within Iron Cast restaurant (5th pic) it had vibrant medieval type vibes.Apart from another couple, we were the only people within the restaurant. We went for the fillet steaks, medium-rare.Mine was cooked perfectly, but Claudes was more well done, which wasn't great - considering we had already waited over half an hour for the steaks.Claudes was sent back for a new one. Another half hour passed before he got his new steak, which was crazy considering the restaurant was now empty.Mine was very tasty, really succulent, and tender, and there were no issues. I just felt sorry for Claude as I had finished about 15 minutes before his new steak arrived. By this time, all of his sides were cold.In fairness, he did get 50% off because I politely complained, but he would have preferred to have his steak right the first time and be able to eat all together. Stayed for one night as our final night in Wales. What a lovely relaxing place. Staff attentive but not in your face. Good food good cocktails comfortable clean rooms and a safe place for ladies to enjoy themselves. Ae would visit again but for longer next time and use all facilitiesRooms: room was well thought out and it felt spacious All the usual amenities including iron n iron board Very comfortable

My wife and I had visited for the 2nd time and while our stay during the 1st time was fantastic, the stay this time was even better. We had booked the lake view room on the ground floor for a night. Additionally, we had also booked for spa treatments for the both of us. It was really worthwhile. Our room that had a very comfortable king size bed, an excellent bathroom, big TV, a Nespresso coffee machine with sufficient coffee pods, tea bags and sugar sachets and above all, the lake view from the balcony were all gorgeous, well maintained and simply the best room we have ever stayed in every since we had started staying in hotels/resorts. Feeding the ducks and swans were a pleasure and we loved every moment of it. The spa service was beyond excellent. Anoushka did the facial and massage treatments for me while Hannah did facial only for my wife. Both of them were incredible. Anoushka did my wife's facial treatment during our 1st visit and she was highly impressed with the quality of service provided. In any case, both Anoushka and Hannah are highly recommended staff if anyone is looking for an excellent spa time but I am sure every staff involved with the spa service is brilliant. The country club is well maintained with really nice and welcoming staff all around and needless to say, the golf course is beautiful and a sight to behold. We will keep coming here at least once a year if possible. 10/10.

Unfriendly, unwelcoming and certainly unaccommodating. Rooms are tired but it?s a nice enough setting and it?s cheap, if that?s what you?re looking for and I suppose you get what you pay for. However I think some of the staff should consider a career outside hospitality.

The cleaning is horrible, they only clean the room every 3 days!Breakfast could be more varied?The room doesn't have a minibar, it just has some spectacular cinnamon cookies.The golf courses were huge and I recommend the tennis courts although the hotel's balls are bad. I recommend a run around the estate in the early morning!

The it use to be a posh place and something special in the area, unfortunately they they have not kept up with modernisation and maintenance ?

The room was beautiful and spacious, with a view of the golf course.The bed was huge and very comfortable.The TV was big, but difficult to use.The staff were fabulous at all times, creating a special experience for my birthday.The leisure centre was great with unlimited use of all spa facilities.Good restaurant on site for dinner and breakfast.

We've stayed here twice now and it's excellent! Nothing is too much trouble! The rooms are lovely and the beds are so comfortable. It's quiet and dark so a great night's sleep. The spa is an added bonus which you can use before and after checkin/out. The food in both restaurants is excellent. We'll be back!!!Rooms: The rooms are equipped to a high standard. The beds are extremely comfortable. Most look out onto the golf course. It's extremely quiet and dark!Food & drinks: The food was excellent and service was superb.

Beautiful historic building, Reception and bar staff were very friendly and helpful. Restaurant food was nice although the meal I had came with celeriac, but only 1 single slice, most of the main meals were on a 2 course deal so the A La Carte menu wasn't much different, not a wide choice of food. The breakfast was amazing, plenty of choice and supply.
